ABS brakes don't make you stop faster. The are designed to allow the driver to still be able to steer in hard braking situations. So you can hopefully avoid the collision.

The roads are fine. Just wet and messy. But, take your time and you should be okay. As long as they don't freeze ;)

That avatar pic is me - it's some yawning attempt to dis me. lol. Never seen anyone do that before.

Are stud tyres legal or not in Alberta? Most people say it's illegal.. but some on here seems to have them. BC residents? Studded ones sure provide a lot more grip when it's icy so that should help those nervous ones feel better.

The roads are fine for me, I think I'm in love with my tires and traction control, they handle even better than my cheap ass summer tires on dry pavement!

What a difference from my crappy BFGoodrich all seasons to Hankook W400's!!

Just the other day I was turning and the tail just swung out, and kinda spun halfway, like WTF?! Then last night, I tried to purposely do it and the car didn't twitch or anything.:D

Imagine then that korean manufacturers usually make lesser good winter tyres - I mean, imagine how good it would be then with Nokians or some other mad brand.

I hope you spread the word on this, I hear most calgarians don't really bother with winter tyres and happily skid around in their all-seasons.. and most days now I hear about seeing people skid everywhere on slush and such but just keep going. A friend of mine rear ended a SUV (even though he has cheaper winter tyres and a WRX). Groan.

All i know is that the Parking lot at the New Walmart down in Doulgasdale is Really Slippery Right now!:D played around there for about 30 minutes till some women who worked there started coming over to my car:burnout: , had to go over to the Co-op parking lot instead!

I imagine the car came with Bridgestone CRAPtenza RE92's? I've heard nothing but complaints about it. From Honda owners to Subaru's.

Actually the car came with some type of all-seasons, but he bought some tyres with the name "Icetrac" in them just a few weeks ago. I found a review of something that might have been the same thing here in Europe and it got rather poor ratings for a winter tyre (though far better than all seasons of course). He hit a spot of ice in heavy traffic at very low speeds - no studs (or perhaps blizzaks) = no grip.

your right people, the bridgestone RE92 is CRAP... it squeeks even the slightest sharp turns.. same when I had my celica 2000 GT.. same tire.. krap...

I'm waiting next spring to do summer tires 18" rim.. and no mikko you kant change my mind... lol:D
