Went downtown Today to contest 2 Tickets that i got back in early September , a $34 Tint Ticket, and a $115 Stunting Ticket, The Crown Prosecutor is pretty easy to deal with, he Dropped the Tint Ticket, because i told him i took the Tint off of the Side Windows, and he Dropped the 2 Demerits and cut the Fine in Half to $57, for the Stunting ticket, and called it "unneccesary Noise" for Squelling my Tires. Im Happy, Could have been alot worse. I was supposdly "Racing" according to the Cop, all i did was Drop the Clutch too high, i swear:angel: ;)

what should i say in my defense. it is like 70 bucks, which i can't afford.

Finboy, that seems like more of an offense that my Tickets, just go talk to him ,and simply ask "what can i do about this" or "is there any Way I can get the Fine Reduced" hes a pretty easy guy to Deal with.

Hey James... when was your actual court date... like... when you met the "crown prosecuter".... was it on your court date? Where do I go? Who do I talk to? Is it intimidating? Oh and did the make mention that your insurance doesn't here a word about all of this?

Thanks for your help man... I think it beats paying POINTTS $200 bucks to fight my ticket! LOL

Cheers!

Peter

I am starting to question what the purpose of fines and penalties is for, if they just plea bargain them down to a monetary amount, yes its good for kids who with one ticket can see their insurance double, but the purpose of that is to stop kids from being dumbasses behind the wheel..
With law enforcement becoming purely monetary based, via photo enforcement, why not just drop the charade of being for "public safety" and admit its just a fucking money grab, and sell a special licence plate for say 800 a year that allows you to speed, blow through red lights and just drive generally shitty, thats all it has come down to anyway, but then the truth of if your pockets are deep enough you can drive how you want would have to be let out of the bag and that would get the knickers of the socialists in a knot would it?..Maxt

Because if that happens, city hall will want control of this money, and divert it to things such as transit, lowering taxes, etc. Right now 100% of the revenue generated goes to CPS, and they can spend it whatever way they like, no accountability.

There's been talk that if the multinova habits of CPS doesn't change, the multinova money will go to city hall and partially distributed to CPS, because everyone knows multinova is just a cash cow. They place 'em in places where there's never any accidents, when there's speed limit changes, etc.

Actually for tickets written by the CPS, its an 80%city 20% province split on the tickets right now, and thats from Al keonig's mouth on Qr77 the other day..So silly hall has things pretty much by the horns right now, and thats why there is a quota being imposed on officers right now which the CPA is fighting in court, if traffic fines went directly to the CPS, do you think the association would be fighting it? There is no direct incentive for the CPS to bust their asses for more summons and thus city revenue right now, if it went directly to the CPS, it would be different.. The police in BC however were really pissed when Multanova got turfed there as the revenue did go directly to the cops..Maxt

Ok, this is how it Goes, i got the Tickets on September 2nd, the Date on the Ticket that states i either had tp Pay or Appear before a Justice of the Peace was Oct 2nd, I went down on Sept. 30th and got an Extension for a "Plea Date" where I can Go Talk to The Crown Prosecutor ,and Plead my Case before Nov. 8th ( the Day i went  ).
He is Very Easy to Talk to, and Not intimidating at all, Hes Probably Deals With over a Hundred cases a day, so Reducing Minor Charges isnt really a big Deal. If you have a major Charge , like "Driving with undue care" or a Speeding Ticket that is more than 25 over the Limit, henormally cant do too much for you, and you Best bet would be to go to Pointts.
What Ticket Are you Fighting? If u get it Reduced so there will be no Demerits, then your Insurance Company Will Never find out, and it will not go on your Record:thumbsup:
All you have to do is go to the Address on the Ticket and Talk to the Justice of the Peace, and Ask to see the Crown Prosecutor, (normally about a 15 minute Wait) then Like I told Finboy, just Say something like "What Can I do about this Ticket" Or "Is there any Way i can get the Fine Reduced".......Done! Then You Can even Ask for an Extension to Pay If need be, I dont have to Pay the Ticket I got on Sept. 2nd till January 31st 2003. :D

Hope that Helped.
