Stereo turns off but illumination doesn't

i have this cheap old sony deck i put into my beater, it only has 11 wires, 1 for constant, 1 for accessory, 1 for amp remote, and 8 for speakers...

i have everything hooked up properly, the problem is when i turn my car off the stereo turn off, no more playing music, but the illumination on the deck does not turn off, and it drains the battery, now if i physically turn the deck off then the illumination will turn off and all is good...

any suggestions?

I think that you might have your accessory and power crossed.

i was thinkign that too, but it keeps time still, if i had them crossed then it would lose the time and presets every time i turn the car off.

but just to be sure, accessory is yellow constant is red correct??

You've got them crossed. Constant yellow, red accessory.
