Gas mileage on a Talon TSi??

I have a 96 Talon TSi AWD......what kind of gas mileage is everyone else getting on them...

I am lucky if I can get just over 300kms on a tank. No mods have been done just K&N filter.

With my DSM a few years ago I got like 360K to a Tank and that was on a trip to Van...

3" exhaust, 16g turbo, 650cc injectors... much spirited driving usually gets me just shy of 400km per 50L

if i baby it or high way drive its more like 450km... or if im out at the track a tad under 300 isnt unusual

My tsi (fwd) was getting around 300 km too.

They suck for mileage.

Could be your o2 sensor. I started getting worse and worse mileage and it turned out to be my o2 sensor, which was dying, but not fully dead so it didn't throw a code. After I replaced it, I was getting around 400km. This was a 92 Talon TSi AWD.

my cousin just bought a 95 AWD Tsi a week and a half and hes gotta be getting at least 400 if not way more, all he has done is exhaust and intake, but then again its automatic and he hasnt drove it hard at all yet

Thanks for all the responses. I am thinking I will check into everything mentioned.

I dont hit boost alot, however maybe I do because its hard not to. I was kinda thinking it was low mileage but with AWD and turbo, I allowed for it.

I guess I will try to baby it for one tank at least and see if there is a difference

This might be a stupid question, but you're using premium, right?

when's the last time you did or had a tune up done?? i had crappy mileage for a while before i changed my spark plugs

Yah I do use premium. I just bought the car about 2 weeks ago...so I am gonna to full tune up etc. .. Just so I know what has been done and when.

Looking at it though with the car being so new to me I am probably driving like a boost hungry guy.

You guys must have size 6 shoes :poosie: My 550cc, EVO16g, 18psi 1G eats 94 octane to the tune of about 50L per 280km, maybe ~300km city on a good tank. Of course I might be able to tune it a bit sharper with an AEM EMS but I'll just suck more gas for now ;)

now with no boost and same mods on REGULAR I am getting 400 to a tank of 50l.

my lude gets 470-500 kms a tank on premium 35 dollar fillup.

I was lucky to get 450 kms on premium with my modded little B16A. Mind you I was addicted to that 8300 rpm redline:drool: .

I have 550's, 225lph pump 9to1's, evo316g, 2.5"turbo back, Hks 4" intake and I get 400 to a tank, fwd mind you. When I drove to vancouver, I got 550 to a tank on the highway. Thats a $40 tank usually.

It wasnt like I was bitchin! ahha....if I want mileage I use my integra it does like 400k's on 25-30 bucks..

475km 53L of 94 octane
last tank was saturday, drove home, drove to red deer sunday autoX'd all day, drove home, to and from work since then. Not bad for a modded AWD

I seem to sit around the 300 to 350 range. Although I have had a few problems so I haven't been able to get a consistent number.

7800 rpm redline here and there, maybe 2-3 times per tank, and I still get that much milage. Vtec drinks gas, not any other time.

Its strange though, I only get good milage if I use Esso Premium Gas (91 octane). If I use shell or safeway, I get maybe 430kms per tank MAX (bone dry gas light). Anybody else notice that their milage changes due to where they get their gas from?

i use Esso i get an average of 420 a tank of gas . i hit Vtec many times a day haha . Safeway or SuperStore ... err about 380 or so .. so Esso only :D

but i know someone that drives normally . hitting vtec not very often and gets 260 a tank its a EG wiht B16 :rofl:

Dude it all depends how you drive it. My s2k tell then srory perfectly, if I drive it hard, I get ~300kms, if I drive nice then I have gotten over 500

I useto get shitty milage in mine, I got my injectors cleaned and it fixed the problem, I found the milage dropping every few months, and Id just throw a bottle of injector cleaner in.
