My mom is planning to sell her 1999 ML430 and she asked me if I would like to keep it and sell my 2001 QX4 instead~
what do u guys think?
Ml is pretty new~~only 27,000KM on the meter

I personally prefer the subtle lines of the QX4, sure it is a upscale Pathfinder but its the simple things that makes it stand out:thumbsup:

The ML is ugly, its like a squashed up minivan

Keep the QX4!

the qx4 is a pretty outdated car with outdated technology...go for the ML :thumbsup:

And so begins another debate from which there is no escape...
are they both still under warranty, the ML will hold is value better, which one do you prefer..just some things to take into consideration

QX4 is an awesome ride, we were going to get one (my choice) but my dad likes 4Runners better :thumbsdow

Anyways, the ML will keep its value better and is generally a more upscale vehicle. I'd keep it and get rid of the QX4 since they lose a LOT of value in the first 3 years....

keep the ml 430....the infiniti has a 240 hp v-6 while the mercedes has a 4.3 v-8 with 268...personally, i love the ml class...they are so :bigpimp: and they ride so nice...but it's your choice in the end...

Both are equally desireable in their own ways. Yes, the "Benzo" might be more :bigpimp: than the QX4, however the reliability of Nissan is uncomparable to that of Mercedes. Just take a look at recall lists for both vehicles. The QX4 is more roomier, and has better off-road abilities than the Mercedes, which may or may not be a concern to you. The Mercedes on the other hand has the prestige associated with the badge it wears, something Inifiniti is not yet really renowned for. A final consideration is that the QX4 is newer than the ML. I'd opt for the newer of two vehicles in any such comparo, however that's just a matter of personality.

Keep in mind also a brand new re-design for both vehicles within the next year or two will undoubtedly affect resale value at the time.

I would take the QX4 if I had to pick one. The ML's are really not one of Mercedes better products. And all of the SUV comparison tests I have read show that. The Infiniti is also newer. I guess its your choice. Dirve the ML for a week or so and see how you like it. But yes, keep in mind the fact that both vehicles are due for redesign...

i dont like MLs for some reason, since they first came out i think its the ulgiest thing mercedes has created, the lines of it are all off, looks like a minivan, its just tht it has the 3point star on it, i think the QX is a much better LOOKING car in my opinion

I don't like the ML's either, mom test drove it and said it sucked, and I don't like the looks of the ML's except the AMG version. They had a terrible suspension until this year. If selling both was an option, that's what i'd do, and buy a different better suv then the both of them. Personally I would keep the QX4 despite my benz loyalty.

oh Vtectx, where do you get your facts? made them up?

it was in car and driver... infiniti and cadalac have the most reliable cars on the market... they didnt say Mercedes.

Nissan was a lot lower on the chart. Though they are the same company, there is better quality in the inifiniti line up.
if any one has seen the differences.
example
sentra -> g20.... crazy amount of differnces... from the supension to the buttons.
