our 96 town and country has started squeeking...
we've had this van since it was new and had no problems so far...only the tranny had a major repair.. and the rest are fine..

recently this squeeky annoying sound started from the driver side front wheel..
its really loud when backing up or moving forward very slowly(no throtle)...sound goes down a bit when i start moving a lil faster..
what do u think the problem is?
thanx guys

ugh might be the squeeler in the brake pad telling you it needs to be changed?

dunno it could also be a dry bearing?

Just pull the wheel off and check how much u have left, that will tell u the story.

Check the brake pad. Sounds about right because I used to have a Caravan and it had the same problem.

The brake pad will have a thin piece of metal that makes contact with the rotor when the brakes start get get low. Just break it off or replace the break pads if it needs it.

It could be a whole bunch of things though.

is it when you are driving or braking??? could be the pads or the bearings if you arent stepping on the brakes.

Both. But it's most noticeable when you are moving slow.

Its probably the brakes! My car has been doing that for awhile, getting them replaced very soon

Didn't you just replace those for $750?

my car has the same problem right now but the squeeking comes from the tire/wheel when i am turning the wheel at very low speeds or when i am not moving at all,

anybody know what this is ? :dunno: :banghead:

very well could be the bearings then, but might as well take off the wheel and look at your brake pads just in case.

I think you can tell if it's the bearings by raising the wheels in the air and checking to see if there's any play.
