You gotta love how crammed a celica is.. you hit your head on the roof if you're 5'10

go for the jetta, good fuel economy, decent power, cheap deisel, very roomy for tall people, and very dependable, and looks good too.

I'd choose the Jetta. Great fuel economy, good reliability, and european styling. One of my favorite affordable cars today!

I agree with badseed,
3. Jetta TDI - Cheap on gas, deisel engine will last longer

I would go for the Golf of the similar trim and engine choice, but the Jetta was my choice. Nice fuel economy, power and torque. Decent interior and the build quality isn't horrible.

Depends what do you want in a car? Transport people? Good Fuel Economy? Fun to drive no matter what? After what my friend experienced in a 2000 VW Jetta GLX VR6, I would never consider a MKIV VW to purchase.

For me I want a car with a motor I can ring out, a car I throw into corners at a decent speed where it feels planted and not plow, a car with an interior I like that reflect's sport intents. Only car that fits that in the list is the Celica...so that would be my choice. But I would buy it used and save your self $15,000 though, not the Tsumani edition, whatever that is.

do you check the birthday of everyone that posts? i think you got too much time on your hands.

anyways man id go with the celica or the tiburon. toburon is always an underrated car, and after owning a toyota you cant ever go wrong with one.

1987? I think this is a better fit.

but seriously -- RSX or Celica, NOT the Tiburon.

i'd go with the RSX, nice and sporty and it will treat you right.
the celica is small especially the back seat and the back end looks ugly but the front looks:bigpimp: .
your next best bet would be the VW and say NO to hyundai

Considering what current gas prices are and what they are gonna look like in the future I would go with the TDI. None of the other options are radicaly sporty in comparison so the difference should be negligable once fuel costs are factored in.

i would only get the rsx if you go for the type s

the 05 has new suspension
210 hp
flatter torque curve
improved leather seats
new colors
17' rims standard on the type s
lip kit standard on the type s

Celica GT-S
Acura RSX Type S
Mitsu RalliArt

BigMass
09-09-2004, 05:57 PM
RSX Type S is probably the best drivers car out of those. That's what i'd get. In that price range though i would also consider the 2005 Mini Cooper S with optional LSD comming in January

RSX type s or celica gts

For sexy-ness - the Ralliart Mitsu, for other sexy-ness - the eclipse.. for reliability, the RSX, for fuel economy - VW

^^^ the new spectra is a damn good buy. it's not as sporty as some of those other cars but it's alot better then the old sephia.

Celica is great for looks and reliability. Finance wise the TDI is great on fuel prices alone, my mom can do over 1000 km's on a tank of gas in her TDI Beatle. The RSX looks really good, but i'm more of a fan of the older ones. Good luck!

I'd say redesigned type s as well.. why is your dad willing to spend $34k on a celica, but not the price of a type s? isn't it around there?

I'm a domestic RWD Muscle Car Guy.

But if I were to buy an import it would be an RSX for the handling and power.
