Wtb: Vw Gti

Im gonna get to brass tax, Im interested in a gti on the cheap.

Im not really into MK1's at this point, but i would consider it. Basically an mk2 gti or mk3 gti. I dont care about the interior. the more stripped the better. blown shocks? perfect. no stereo? not a big deal. junked tires? doesnt matter...

now this is the kicker, and why im not expecting a million reply's, i need it to be under 1G. the closer to 500 or less bucks the better.

The reason for all these requirements is that i would be prepping the car for rallying here in western canada. In order for me to get propper suspension (around $3000), a good cage ($1200), and rally tires ($165+ per) I need keep the initial price of the car down.

I would stay away from the MKI rabbits for autocross and the MKIII. I would stick with the MKII but you'll have a hard time finding one for under a grand unless you are planning an engine swap. Spend a little more and get a gti. This way you will be getting stuff like 4 wheel disc brakes and sway bars and such.

im really only looking for gti, not a standard golf. im also willing to go a bit higher than $1000. I knwo this is asking a lot, but i need to ask.

I know someone that has a 16v if you are interested. I'll ask him but I think he wants around $2500 ish :dunno:
