Hey,

Had a friend who owed me some money, so in trade he gave me a NOMAD Jukebox. The model number is DAP6GO1. I'm 99% sure it's a 6 GB version.

When it came out it retailed at $600.00, i'm lookin to get in the neighbourhood of $200 for this unit. I only have the system itself and the USB cable for it, no software or other hardware or anything else.

If interested or have something i might consider in trade PM me.

Thanks.

software can be loaded off Nomad's website, creative's website or download.com.

If no takers i'll keep it, it looks kinda cool, but I'm a retard when it comes to technology and don't know how to load music to it...

it's already got like 2500 songs on it in 10 library's...I think the 5 gig ipod sells for around 500 bucks, this thing is quite a bit bigger about the size of a discman if you don't mind that...:dunno:

not really old school, just ahead of it's time.

i look in the paper and find 128 MB and 256 MB MP3 Players selling for around $250 - 400, though they are quite a bit smaller

6G is a hell of a lot more memory than that.

the other major difference is that 128MB and 256MB players are solid state devices, meaning that they can handle a lot of shaking/running/bouncing/etc without affecting data (no mechanical moving parts).

mp3 players that are based on HDs (like the 6GB one) have disks/heads and are susceptible to damage when used for things like jogging/etc.

that's why those small players tend to have a higher price... (well, and the super small size)
