what kinda power do you want to make?
how much boost do you want to run?
How much money are you willing to spend?
What style flange will you use (ie garret, mitsu?)
Is some lag OK or do you want a fast spooling turbo?
What is the displacement and redline of your car? (sorry honda illiterate)

I think that should be it, answer these and ill give you MY pick of turbo

I would suggest a .60/.48 (hotside) T3 turbo. That is currently what I am running on my D16Z6, and she runs like crazy. There is a little more lag then your standard .42/.48 T3, but when boost hits, does she ever move. You can pick one up from down2turbo on ebay for 300US rebuilt. The turbo I got from him was MINT, the thing is completely rebuilt, new seals, new bearings, new coating, new wastegate, and totally rebalanced...simply awesome. The other advantage is that manifolds made in the standard T3 flange are so common.

Here is the one I bought.

Note: To the pickers, this is NOT an advertisment for this ebayer, I'm simply telling him where I got my turbo.

woha, damn subscription on here sucks, ummmmm, Well were lookin for a turbo for around $1500 or less becuase we are custom making all the manifolds etc together. Using a TurboSmart Supersonic Blow Off Valve... mhmhm dunno much else right abotu now, its a 1.6l, 1595cc i think, redline, o god, uhh, i forget lol, aint my car Im doing this for a buddy so yah.

no, turbo for $1500 :) we got big budget for turbo because we are custom fabbing the piping and everythign else for cheap (know some poeple with supplies) $1500 is a little much for the turbo if u ask me all I really car eabout right now is what kind of turbo.

You don't need to spend nearly that much cash on a turbo. What kind of characteristic do you want it to have?

What you mean?

Well for 1500, you have a lot of options for turbochargers, you can get one of Garretts new GT series ballbearing turbos, but that might be overkill for most street setups, but if you want to spend the money, then go for it. A zc engine is only 1.6L remember. As I mentioned before, a Garrett T3 Super 60, or 60 trim .60/.48 turbo will do you fine for up to 350-375HP.

Yah Im thinking 350hp will make a little civic HB go fast enough for him :)

If he lets me, rebuild the engine with new pistons, rods, valves, cam, few other little goodies, add whatever turbo we get with custom piping and intercooler, upgrade the whole ignition to the MSD 7 I think they call it the 7 still, why don't you stop asking what I'm doing and either help me or stfu

Wow whats with all the shit talking? Some people on here are ruthless....

A lot is possible with a D engine, and the advantage is that they are cheap as hell if you blow one up. I will admit that you (allgonoshow) really need to give more info then keep asking a question that a lot of people have answered.

Anyhow, for the critics ( in all your great wisdom  )Here are some examples of peoples D setups.

Not half bad.... a couple guys on homemadeturbo.com are going for 20-23lbs and expecting 320+. The fun is in building your own project and doing it on the "useless" d series honda engines. The whole project can also be very economical if you know what you're doing.
