that 4mpg is photoshopped or fake. it wouldnt be that much of a pig if it had a strainer for a gas tank.

 4MPG!! Not exactly a touring car! Still I'd love to have one in the garage.

I'm sure it's combined milage.

You are probably turning 1500rpm on the highway.

No actually its correct. The Cadillac CTS-V race car and Corvette C5-R get the same fuel economy.

Race cars don't get great fuel economy, hence why they need to make fuel stops mid way through the race.

no it does not come painted :) this like the old school factory race cars you could get in the 1960s and 70s. I would drive one for sure :)

its the same 8.3L srt engine and only has 20 more horsepower. are you sure? i dont see how you can lose over 10mpg and gain 20hp!

I'd get one with stripes and no paint... bare carbon (or aluminum) body with some stripes... teh cool. And not road legal, I believe. If so, I want one. Or two.:D

Do you mean the R/T 10 or the SRT-10?

The SRT-10 is still a current a model, just sold to your average joe and its street legal. The comp coupe is usually sold only to race teams.

The R/T 10 is heavier and less agile than the SRT-10.

Anyone can buy a competition coupe, not just race teams. That is the whole point of the car... of course, you can't go to just any dealership and get one but knowin the right people or living near a big dealership is about all it takes.

I didn't say they wouldn't sell it to you if you weren't a race team and you don't need to "know anyone" to buy it - just have the cash and a flatbed to take the car away since its not street legal - which is why it usually only gets sold to race teams.

i know this is prob a stupid question.. but is the engine in the back????

No, it's a V10 which is why the hood is so long. It's a front-engine, rear-drive car, and a sick one at that.

You can see in this pic:
http://home.comcast.net/~moremopar/images/DSCN2044.JPG
That the hood is so much longer than the rear. It COULD be rear engine if it had a V6, boxer-4, etc... but then the hood wouldn't be so long.

It could be considered a mid mounted engine because the engine is mounted behind the front wheels though its not the typical mid mount setup which has the engine behind the driver.

Where does it say it gains only 20 HP?

I have talked to a few CC owners at the track and they both said the engine produced over 575 HP, I don't know if they modified it at all though.
