What is with the stupid names for cars that Mazda has been coming out with like 3 and 6 and now 5! Honestly can't they come up with something a little more catchy? Like I think 'Protege' sounds better than '3'. Just my $.02.

I think i remember reading somewhere on these forums about how its easier for consumers to recognize vehicles by numbers rather then names. :dunno:

Yeah, that's what I heard to. That's why they renamed the Dodge Neon, to the SX 2.0.

I find that interesting. In my experience it's usually hard for someone I'm talking to to reconize a car by letters/numbers rather than a name. The RSX for example. I think "Integra" is much more reconizable by people that aren't that familiar with cars.

And they're gonna try and convince us that van goes "zoom zoom"???? hahahah

Who the hell said the van would go zoom zoom in the first place?
Not all the cars they make follow it...

I like the updated look of the MPV actually...it's not bad. And with the numbers, who cares, I can tell the difference as can everyone else. It's their thing.

It is a nice looking Mini Van ! sporty looking too !

Mazda 5 .... well .. a good name .. but somehow, when I saw " Mazda 5 " I think it is the name name for Miata Mx-5 ...

well, all the lower end manufacture, no matter Toyota, Mazda, Volvo, Dogde, they try to use "number" as the names of their cars, they just wanna be more "High End" feel such as BMW, BENZ, Ferrari .. etc .. RX300,LS 400, SX 2.0 , Mazda 2, 3 , 5, 6 or whatever .. V40, S60 ....

Which is not bad, may give customer a "high-end" touch ...

I myself like what Acura did, as a Low-Mid range car, and they call their cars in Sexy name .. EL, TSX, TL, RL , RSX, MDX, of course, most important, NSX ! :)

Anyway, nice looking mini van .. but I don't think I will ever get a mini van .. :D
