I bought a beater project and I need to have it inspected to get insurance. Any suggestions for a cheap place to get it done? I've never actually had to do this before. I searched but the only thing I could find was "not crappy tire".

What's the rule about the windshield cracks? There's one on the drivers side but it's 1.5 inches from the top. I'm gonna get it fixed anyway but need to do some rust repair first.

Also, assuming the car fails for some reason, do you have to pay for another inspection once it's fixed or do you just show it to the original inspector guy and he signs off on it?
