k, sometimes my remote will mute and unmute itself. How the hell do I stop this from happening or fix it when it happens? Sometimes I park my car, and it'll play that song, and sometimes it wont, but it'll always arm. Anyone know how to mute and unmute the remote?

I think you have auto arm on.

I think you may have proximity auto arm on!
I had it happen to me, my car kept on disarming itself every 10 min or so.
I did'nt know what the hell until I noticed auto on my remote display.
If all else fails just reset everything to factory setting thats how I clear up mine when it happened.

Shock sensor on, auto off, passive off.
Basically all those bars at the top are off.

Edit: ok now I got sound back again. WTF?! It just does it by itself!!

if it does it by itself, the auto arm (passive) has to be on..

isnt I and II just muting the car when you arm it so it doesn't beep?

Could be the CF zip ties interfering with the transmission!

I've had that same problem.

It only happens once in awhile and it usually happens in a certain place that I park my car when I go to Chinook.

My alarm arms itself after I put the car in ready mode but the remote doesn't do the little song. My LED lights up telling me it's armed and when I hit a button to arm/disarm it actually arms/disarms the alarm but nothing happens on the remote.

I came to the conclusion that it was interference with the power doors at the Shell station close to Chinook cause that's the only time it happens. Never ever happens anywhere else.

Try replacing the battery in your remote, when my battery dies, or is almost dead, it plays the little song.

buh_buh I know you arent gonna read this for a bit...but remember when we were in the car wash that day...it had waited for the interior courtesy light to go completely off??...make sure its still doing that...AND that all your doors and (hood and trunk pin??) are closed man...

When you need to replace the battery, do you just take out the old ones and throw the new ones in? It doesnt need to be reprogrammed or anything right? And what kind of battery(s) does it take? I haven't looked into it yet..

No, there is no reprogramming necessary. Ya all you do is toss a new one in, and it takes a AAA.
