View Full Version : can a cut out tool be used on sheet metal???

can it be used on sheet metal given the correct bit or whatever... or is there another tool similar to this that can be used on sheet metal?

Yea i would think you can get a bit but in might no leave you a good edge. I would use some tin snips or some power cutters.

They can cut through more than sheet metal. They are very strong and easy to use.

I used them to cut out the metal on my rear deck to install an oversized set of speakers and they were much easier to use than a jigsaw.

yeah, but i need the i guess versatility, of this tool, the cut doesn't have to be perfect but i need it to go where i want when i want, sheers would be very "blocky" i want the curves and stuff to be a smooth constant curve, but the actual cut can be filed and stuff.

you can be very curvy and smooth with tinsnips... you just have to plan out what you're doing first and cut it out in parts... remove the large chunks you don't need first so that you don't bind up in the tight corners
