Police SUV rearends car...

Anyone know what happened? I was turning onto McLeod Trail South from Midlake Blvd, and there was a police SUV all smashed in the front and a red car that looked to be pushed from behind into another car from McLeod Trail on top of the overpass.

i had a cop almost T-bone me as i was making a left hand turn through an intersection (Lake Fraiser Drive onto Canyon Medow's) Cop didn't have his lights or siren on, he was traveling well over the posted speed limit of 60 km/hr (i'd say about 80-90 km/ hr as i could hear his engine screaming) . I'd say he missed my front end by a matter in inches, if he did hit me i'm sure it they would have found some way to pin the blame on me.

Also had a friend of mine killed by a cop who was driving drunk while off-duty. Ironically the cop was head of the drunk driving unit for the city of calgary.

I think someone took a picture of a cop car and LRT crash on 7th Aveune last year. That story made it on TV and the papers.

cops speed all the time for no reason, i've known of at least 10 incidents of cops crashing cuz of carelessness. one cop car crashed into a car pulling out of the driveway cuz she was driving like 80 on a residentual street without lights and siren. the patrol car ended up hitting a house and made some damage to the house. then other incidents where cops rear ending someone cuz they were going tooo fast and not paying attentiong when not running code.

Cops do respond to calls without their lights and sirens on, they generally reserve them for serious situations. Hence the speeding for no apparent reason. If you were making a left hand turn and he barely missed you, I'm pretty sure it's your fault even if he was speeding. If you didn't get a ticket for an unsafe left hand turn then perhaps he was on a more important call and couldn't stop, hence the speeding.

actually he was making the left turn...but n e who cops are idiots...they seldom know what they are doing and dont have much commen sense

especially when it comes to pulling over people...ex. just a few days ago a cop pretty much blocked off a right hand curb turn lane because he had to give a ticket to someone...i know its partially the the persons fault for stopping there but the cop can atleast say can you move up a little so we arent blocking the road

Its funny, I tend to drive very late at night. For some reason when cops see me, they start following me. But then they just stop. Plus I'm asian too. LoL, j/k I know why they follow me.

They tend to do that to cars late at night that may look "supicious". They just run your plates to see if its stolen and follow you until they are bored. It happened to me all the time in my old car, and it didn't help when I had a full car load of teen asian males haha.
