I bought this used CD deck (Kenwood Z919) from a friend and want to test if it powers up before I try to install it in the car.

How can I power it up at home?

I have several power adapters that do 12V that I can tap into.

tie the yellow and red wires together and put them on positive battery terminal, put the black wire on the negative battery terminal. or do the same on your power adapter. both yellow and red wires need to see 12v to power up the deck

what he said, but make sure you hook up a speaker to each of the speaker outs idividually so you can test to make sure they all work too.
