When are you guys throwing on the winter tires?

- I heard deadmonton is calling for a possible 10cm tonight.

I need to buy some new winter tires, not looking forward to removing my ecstas :(

First good chance of snow - my summer tires are practically slicks - my car would simply be a 3300 pound sled in the snow with these tires :(

Mine are slick as hell too, kinda fun though hehe .

Umm i think October

I am thinking October too, sucks though, I am enjoying the 225s, going back to the pizza cutters will suck.

Although, I am looking forward to empty parking lots covered in ice.

My summers are fairly bald, so usually when I see more than 1 day of snow in the forecast. Sometime in october hopefully.

I might not even take my summers off since some have predicted a dry winter. Who knows this is Calgary plus I get better gas mileage and less wheel spin with my winters anyways.

Jeff,

Those 712s are brutal in any kind of snow or cold. Definitely get something different before the snow stays.

when the gravel hits... man, going back to the 13's is gonna hurt.. Then i jack up the coilsover's to 4x4, add 4 huge fog lights, and big red mudflaps.. (j/k)

Word. I had those on my GTI...the rubber is SOOOO hard. I couldn't get up my driveway and they had lots of tread.

Yea, thats my worry, I am rolling on brand new 712s that are supposedly death on rubber in the snow.

My friend in his WRX was laughing his ass off at me when I got stuck in a cm of snow a couple years ago. 712s are an average tire at the best of times. I'm waiting to burn these off so I can get something better, but the rubber is so friggin hard they don't wear.

Well those of you who are interested in a group buy, even if we get different sizes (which is more than likely), I'm sure the sponsors would be willing to give us a break on mount/balance or something along those lines.

when it looks as though there is gonna be snow on the ground for up to a week. so that means, snow in the forcast for one day, and sub-zero temps for the rest of the week

Looks like that went tits up, my bad for not asking permission - had no idea.
