Alright, I got a couple of tickets back in BC eight months ago or so.

Anyone know if they actually activly use collection agencies to get their money?

I haven't paid and well, I keep getting notices to pay.

I wonder if they actually _DO_ attempt to get a collection agency after you for $288.

i got a speeding ticket from bc about 3 years ago, when i got it the cop said that i probably wouldnt even have to pay for it and that i probably wouldnt have any demerits taken off my license either.since then i have gotten alot of drivers abrstacts and it never has showed up on it?but that was 3 years ago when bc,alberta and saskatchewan registeries were not linked together.

Yeah you don't get demerits from the tickets at all, it's wether or not they're gonna stick on a collection agency on my ass to get their $288 that i'm worred about. I don't want any marks on ye ol credit record you know?

Maybe, I just hate giving away money like that. That's a couple of dinners!

I don't know if it matters until the next time you get pulled over in B.C. then you're in for it...

Bol, I had one last year, I dragged it out forever with lame ass excuses as to why I needed to reschedule my court date. I eventually paid it since I was told no demerits will show.

bah...how do you get a ticket for fleeing from the police, if they managed to give you the ticket you obviously did not successfully flee??

In BC there will be a warrant for your arrest if you were to be pulled over or if your record is looked up when your in BC.

However, they would not actively pursue you other than sending you mail that you have a fine since you are from another province.

That is exactly what i heard. If you get pulled over again in BC then you are screwed. I got a $180 one in BC too but I payed it. If you take the risk, keep us updated!

screw bc tickets man i got a $640 ticket there in august so i phoned for my dads lawyer to get some info for me if i have to pay it and anything out of province they usually drop everything demerits, points whatever? so no worries.
by the way 135 in a 60, oops:angel: actually i didnt even know it was a 60 zone it was coming off a highway kinda? it was the nicest cop ive ever met though, he was going to tow my car but i told him i had to leave the next day to go home and he let me go,without the tow:clap:

What about speeding tickets in the US? Does it vary from state to state?

In the US you have to pay upfront with your speeding ticket.

I was pulled over twice there.

The cop was nice though , even shaked my handafter he gave me the ticket haha !

speed all you want in montana HAHAH ! no demerits and i was going like 30 mph over and only got a $40 US ticket.

the second ticket was on my way back, i was following a car going only 15 over and the cop couldnt clock him so he clocked me and gave me the ticket. $20 for that one cause he wrote it that i was only going 12 over after 12 over the fine is $40. he was a nice cop too.

no demerits ! :bigpimp:

this is the same in all states but in a lot of states if you are out of town and going over 30 mph they treat it very seriously and the ticket is a lot more then $40.

I'm from Vancouver and the police have really craked down on suped-up cars..EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT SPEEDING OR DOING ANYTHING WRONG, IF THEY SEE A MODDED CAR, THEY WILL LOOK UP YOUR PLATE ON THEIR COMPUTER!!! Trust me, this is how lots of my friends have gotten nabbed!:thumbsdow

Yeah they've cracked down pretty hard in the lower mainland, but for good reason though. You can only have so many people kill themselves and others before something happens right?

I mean sure it's profiling, but you don't have to be a genius to put two and two together... all the more reason not to put on three foot wings and exhausts with 6" diameter outlets...

I see you put the restrictor in your exhaust, good girl!

i always thought it would be the other way around, seeing that we are from Canada, the polices in the state would target us and give us as many tickets as possible.

Kinda off-topic -- but it sure is nice to have you back on the forums Adam... you were gone way-too-long! LOL

Cheers!
