I am trying to install a Kenwood WOOX amplified subwoofer in my Volvo V70 wagon by attaching it to the pre-wired factory subwoofer harness.
The wiring matches up perfectly but I don't know if the Volvo audio wires are speaker frequency or RCA preamp output frequency.
The Kenwood supports either type of input via different connectors, so I need to figure out which one is which.
Is there any way to line test to figure out which frequency the wires carry? Can you read this with a multimeter?
I also thought of just connecting one set of audio lines to a loose speaker and seeing if the volume was loud or soft. Would this work?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
