Can I use a 100Amp Fuse with 6 or 8 Guage Wire? Or would my car start on fire?

If you have the amount of current needed for a 100A fuse then you shouldn't be using 6 or 8 gague wire. I would suggest 4ga at least. You can never have too big of wire. If you can afford it i would go with 2ga or 0/1 ga. Then that way you already have it if you decide you need more.

8ga would be good for around 50-60A and 6ga (if you can find it) would be good for 70-80A.
