Looks like the Ferrari F430 is going to be one hell of a car. Finally Ferrari is getting competitive with power in the range (490 HP!) and offering ceramic disc rotors.

3200 lbs, 490 hp, 343 lb-ft torque.. man this thing is a beast.

I think there will be a great opportunity to pick up an F360 for chump change.. what do you guys think? I find it hard to believe that a relatively underpowered car will be able to retain value with such a heavyweight available:

Can't wait to drive an F430. Anyone heard about an F430 Challenge or F430 Challenge Stradale?

Can't wait to see what the "manettino" is like.. one more step closer to Shumy.

It's still a Ferrari and it's still too rare. I don't think there's official pricing of 430 yet and I think it will cost more the 360 when they were new.

So price probably won't drop much due to demand and inflation.

Maybe, but my guess is that it will drop like crazy.. I can't imagine paying anywhere near the price of an F430 for the F360. To stay competitive with the Gallardo (the clear target of the F430) they aren't going to have a lot of headway in raising the prices.

In any case, it is going to be one sweet car.

Y0 dudes...

Price will be a 7 percent increase over the 360 models.

I don't think it will drop 'LIKE CR4ZY y0' but still significantly. Expect to see them at 125-135kUS (hardly chump change  )

I would hardly expect to see a Challenge Stradale version out soon... it took 4 years to get one for the 360, remember? But the massive success of the car will probably see one after less than 2 years.

The 360 isn't 'obselete' by any means. A 308, which came out in 1979, has finally been caught up to by stock modern cars (M3s, etc) but the 360 is nowhere near becoming 'obselete' and neither is even a 348 or 355.

BTW, it's 3190lbs and 490.1hp.:D ;)

Also, the carbon brakes option will probably be very expensive and not very worth it, but it will sell like crazy I'm sure. After seeing an Enzo's brakes in real life, those massive rotors would look great behind the Enzo wheels (they already do, lol)

^^ I agree. If anything, the F355 will drop in price with the 360 remaining steady. Also considering that 360 spiders were selling OVER list, last year I doubt you'll see them selling at wal-mart prices any time soon.

Ferrari says the 430 can run a 12.1 stock... (@ 114 I think) but it can probably get into the high 11s. :burnout: :burnout:

It's actually 12.1 at 118. My b...:D

Anyway .. even 355 still keep their value ...

or even say as old as a 1978 308 ... still $40K + .. for a good one ..

But .. same here .. looking forward to seeing if there is a price drop for the 360 ... but most likely .. not much .. :(

There are lots of used 360 for sale now, ( compare to 2 or 3 yrs ago ) since A. it has been out for near 6 yr, B. Lot of them were traded to the Gallardo, or other super cars ...

Well .. a Ferrari is a Ferrari ... I won't say a 348, 355 or 360 is "under" power ... but they are not one of the fastest car ..

:D

Wow .. will see what kind of HP will Porsche put in the new 997 Turbo for 2008 model ...

Damn, I wish I could think of a F360 or even a F355 as being worth chump change. Both of these cars will easily fetch over $100,000 on the open market. All Ferrari's are exotic works of art, I would hardly call the F360 obsolete. The styling and technology is still cutting edge. I think it's aged quite well actually... I even like the older 348 and TR's. The designs were way ahead of their time. Pininfarina knows their stuff!

Well, my dad bought the 355GTS for a good price at nearly 150. Then after a while it dropped to 120, and now we could sell it for about 115 I suppose. 30k is quite a drop in price. It's not 50 percent, but it's 20 which is quite a bit. 30k isn't exactly a little bit of money, either.

Good point .. I don't recall I saw a white 360 in person ...

how come all the sports car manufactures hate to make white car ?? :dunno:

I still love the White Testerossa from Miami Vice ...

White cars have been out of vogue for a while.. they just don't make a lot of them because there isn't a huge demand. I'm sure there are a couple white F360s kicking around somewhere.

I think white car looks good on older style " square " cars, such as Lotus SE, Testerossa, E36, C4 Vette, E class, SL, ... etc .. however, all the new sports cars, their shapes are always "rounder" ... and dont' look good on white anymore .. :(

Look at a white boxster ! or a white 911 !

On the other hand, white become unoffical "Asian" cars colour .. Civic SiR, Intregra type R .. 350Z .. RSX .. Corolla ... TONS of white colour lower end asian cars around and make people think --> White = Asian cars .... :dunno:
My last white car .. was a 00 Civic Si too .. :dunno:
May be that is another reason why most Luxury cars/Sports cars .. are not in white anymore .. :(

True.. lots of people associate company cars or lower end cars with white, but I would have loved to have found an SL55 in white.. had to settle with silver since I didn't have the patience to order one.

I like a few cars in white.. 350Z roadster, SLK, SL, E46 M3, NSX, F360 and a couple others.

Theres a lot of cars that look really bad in white: 911, boxster, viper, but an F360 is not one of them imo! :) nothing beats a clean white car, but then maybe I'm biased! haha.

White Enzo, SL, SLK, M3, 350Z, G35, TL, TSX.... all sexy! haha.

The exotics market in Canada has been pretty soft lately. Everything's been dropping in prices, except Ferraris for some odd reason. I'm expecting F360 prices to drop pretty huge when the 430 comes out, with the 355 getting a minor drop. Old Ferraris don't really drop too much in price, especially good ones. 355's are the first of the "good" ferraris. Anyone that's driven a 348 will know WTF I'm talking about.

The last 2 years have been nuts for F360 prices, especially the spyders. Way overboard for so little car. Because of that, it's gonna be a huge loss for anyone still owning one right now. The smart ones already let 'em go last year when they heard news of the replacement.

Once the price drops and stabilizes, prob. a year or so after the 430 introduction, it'd be fairly cheap to pick up a 360 and drive it for a year. Like I said in another thread, probably cheaper than leasing a benz ;).

Yeah.. I agree with you. I think I might try to get an F430 for six months or so and then get an F360 when the prices come down. I can't believe the prices for the F360 with the performance it has.. price/performance is way off, but they are beautiful cars.

I heard a great quote about the old crappy (pre-F355 Ferraris). "Ferraris are like women who live in Malibu. They look great and they don't work."
