WTB: 86-91 Supra or Cressidia (7MGE), Standard, Any condition

Looking for a 1986-91 Toyota Supra, or cressidia equipped with the inline 6 cylinder engine (7MGE) i don't care what condition the car its self is in, as i only need the transmission, (must be standard),

willing to buy to get the transmission, accident cars, and cars with dead engines will be fine, as long as the transmission is in working order,

plese let me know what you have along with a price,

the Cressida's only came with the 4 SPD Auto's man...unless someone else beat you to the swap...

everyone one who does the 5 speed swap in a cressida uses a w58 outta a mk 2 supra...plenty at pyp

so the transmission off the 5mge and the 7mge are interchangeable?

Yes, the 5 speed from both of those engines is the W58. You can supposedly swap with any W58 transmission. I believe they even used it in the IS300. They say the newer the W58, the beefier it gets, so expect a W58 from a MK III Supra to be stronger than one from a MK II Supra.

the transmission itself is much the same, but with the is300/sc300/mkIV supra n/a unit, the shifter housing needs to be swapped around, a lot, also some internals need to be changed.

if you REALLY want to do it, i can give you a link to a walkthrough for the procedure.

also, some cressidas came with 5 speeds, i dont believe they were sold in canada, but they are around down south of the border.

oh yeah, wagons never came with a 5 speed anywhere :( such a sweet sleeper that could be, 7mgte 5 speed cressida wagon :thumbsup:

so a transmission from a older (82 5mge) will bolt right up to a 86-92 7mge? that's good info to know,
