I was wondering if any of the seroius hold'em players on this board could recommend a book on hold'em to me.

I'm not a beginner, so I'm not looking for an explination of the game, but rather a book that goes into theory.

Thanks guys.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but an interesting read nonetheless, is a book called Bringing Down the House. It's about a team of MIT blackjack card counters that takes Vegas and other casinos for millions. They go into a bit of detail on how they did it, but it's not a step by step guide.

Yeah I've been known to play from time to time on PokerStars, online poker pisses me off though, no one plays how they would in real life.

Where can you play hold'em in Calgary?

I've played online and have won a few tournaments for fake money and that's about it. I'd like to hit up a casino and take some real money.

www.twoplustwo.com
www.unitedpokerforum.com
www.cardplayer.com

-all good sites to read regularly

1. Winning Low Limit Hold'Em By Lee Jones
-begginner stuff but should read anyway. I hear small stakes hold'em by miller is better than this one but haven't got it yet.

4. Hold'Em Poker for Advanced Players by Sklanksy and Malmuth
-pretty advanced but good read anyway

i don't like supersystem that much for the limit section.

Phill Helmuth's Play Poker Like the Pros was a nice and easy read.

Then there's another book. I think it's called Hold 'Em Poker by Ken Warren, I thought was good too.
