Its always fun to build those. The micro-atx boards are so small. LOL
You dont have a whole hell of a lot of room to work around in those, trust me! :D

Nice purchase though, I am sure you will be happy with it.

It's fan is so freaking loud. I plan on fastening it to the bottom of our desk.

It'll be on a network w/ our old pc so I've got some wire organizing to do some weekend.

edit: Fan was set to max in bios

No cd drive - it's on a lan with a pretty big file server. It does have a 40 gig drive stuffed in there.

http://www.nexus-point.net/pictures/nintendo/11-final.jpg

Some dudes put them in Xboxes, toasters, tires - mini boards rock. Tho memory express refused to get on the bandwagon last year and sell the things so I had to order from Edmonton. As Ekliptix discovered - the shuttles are noisy as hell, which kind of defeats the purpose (putting them in odd places like the kitchen, bathroom etc). If I could have found a cheap DC power supply I would have just a tiny processor fan - still not noisy but silent was the goal. :(

Shuttle claims 32db. I'm taking a db meter home tonight to see how loud it is.

I'm guessing 55db. It's way too loud. a 92mm fan is used.

Nice Ben.

I mentioned earlier that the fan was very loud. Memory Express helped me find out that in the bios the fan was set to run at it's max all the time.

I now set the bios so that the fan runs very low until the cpu reaches 43C. From that point the fan rpm goes up for every degree the cpu is above 43C.

And it's quiet now.:)

Ben

nice man, thats my main concern, the computer better not be too loud.

4 case fans, vid card fan, processor fan...

I suggest you change those maxtors to some nice Seagates. Even with liquid bearings, the maxtors are loudest of all. Also, why 2 burners?

why don't you get a raid board and get two 10,000 rpm drives for the array

I will be migrating these drives over once I get the system, need to dump a bunch of data from them to the new drive and then you'll find them in the market place :)

Ones a DVD burner, the other is a Writer from my previous comp (like the maxtor drives) that I need if I have to copy from disk to disk. If I dont use it much, oh well, another marketplace item. :)

Holy shit so many techno weinies! lol
Well I just got a new Dell 600m notebook and I wouldn't trade it for anything now. I love the mobility of it. No more wires for me and I can log onto the internet almost anywhere in town.
Anyway that's some hardcore stuff some of you have, happy gaming! :D
