It's with much sadness that I have to sell my baby :(
The reason: recently started a new job that requires extensive travelling in the mountains (Banff/Canmore/Kananaskis area) and I would feel safer with 4WD, so bought an SUV.
1989 Ford Probe GT - turbo
-I'm the original owner/lady driven
-only 156,000 kms
-4 cylinder, 2.2 litre, turbo
-5 spd manual transmission
-**still gets 38-39 mpg on highway
-power: windows, locks, steering, driver's seat
-sunroof
-alloy wheels
-adjustable ride (soft, normal, sport)
-Kenwood CD player
-Pioneer Speakers
-Kenwood amp + Audio Gods amp
-bass tube
-grey cloth interior / black exterior
-ABS
-timing belt changed @ 90,000 kms
-brand new alternator 1.5 yrs ago
-new front tires 1.5 yrs ago
-regularly maintained/oil changes/fluid top-ups etc
-A/C (just needs to be recharged - I also have the Retro-Kit (conversion) for using R134 instead of Freon
-back seats flip forward to provide TONS of cargo room (hatchback)
-cruise control
-in dash digital computer: tells fuel economy, distance to empty, estimated time of arrival, external temperature, etc
-comes w/ bra
-all new paint in 1998
-**has never been in an accident
-low yearly auto insurance (has only cost me $600/year)
-has tons of "get up and go"....major acceleration, fast and fun
-starts like a dream, engine runs great.....last winter I didn't have plug-in parking @ work and it would still start, unplugged, in cold temps.
-new battery 1.5 yrs ago
-no visible rust except on back winshield-wiper
-occasional rock chips
-1 running light is burnt out, the other one has a busted lens (easy to replace)
-slight occasional rattle in the exhaust but muffler good
-VERY clean inside, upholstery in excellent condition
-I have the Ford Probe Repair Manual and should be able to find the original user's manual that came w/ car when I bought it new
Asking price: $4000 obo - Calgary area ... Make me an offer. I don't have room for 2 vehicles in my garage, would hate for the Probe to sit out on the street all winter.
