i just purchased a 86 toyota, got it for $1000 only problem is the engine is sitting in the bed. Needs to be overhauled, What mods can you do the the 22r-E to get some horses out of it? I want to pull 33/1250R15 whats a good lift for this size tire and what engine mods do i need to do to pull these tires good?

22R-E's are gutless engines and even worse when you put bigger tires. If you have the funds I suggest a 350 swap, theres kits out there! Now if you want to keep the 22RE theres a company that makes stuff for them, wild cams etc

POR 15 the frame is the first thing i would do. I believe that you can clear 33's on only a 3" body lift. 4" suspension should be more than enough.

as nice as it would be for a swap, this is going to be my daily driver and i have to get good gas milage. Now if there are any swap that i can just drop in that might be something, but i dont want to run into a bunch of problems like you find doing most swaps.

newsflash: 33s and high horsepower = shitty gas mileage.
