Just wondering, what type of oil is best for Acura Integra engines (LS non vtec), what do u people recomend. Also at what time should start using heavier/winter oil. Thanks

I'm sure once the temp drops off you can switch to a "winter" 0-30. It just less viscous and will provide better lubrication on cold starts.

... YEah i heard that winter oil will protect your engine more, when u start it at like -25 weather than the regular viscosity oil any brand recomendations.....

Yeah, run a synthetic oil. Best to run it year round, but synthetic's are MUCH better when it gets really cold.
Personally, I run 0W-30 in the winter, never had a problem.

You won't run a heavier oil in the winter, that would just make cold starts even worse.

for the winter u want to use thinner, or less viscous oil than in the summer. 5w30 is thin enough unless your car sucks.

Depending on the year of your integra, you may or may not want to switch to synthetic.

It is a far superior lubricant for your engine, especially on cold starts, but as for putting it into an older engine, you may find yourself with more oil consumption in the for of leaks and burning.

If your car burns oil I would not recommend synthetic :whipped:

But yah just use on 5w30 or something.

5w 30 is the best, just put some 5w synthetic and you will be fine, the guy at honda told me its the best for a over head cam motor.

In the manual it should say something like for -40C to 40C use 5w30, and for 0C to 40+C use 10w30.
