I voted for Honda just because we've never had problems with our Honda/Acura's. We had 3 Toyotas before and loved them, but the styling of some of the newer one is ugly imo.

Personally I think that toyota/lexus's are far better lookign than honda/acuras. I do however love the s2000 and nsx but other than that toyota/lexus has honda/acura beat in terms of looks...

I guess I was only really thinking about the Camry and Echo. Bu tyeah- Honda makes some ugly cars. The only Acura I don't like is the 1.7ELs and the only Lexus I don't like is the SC430.

I guess then...in my mind the two are fairly equal (might change if I get the 03 4runner:D ) so my vote is based on what we currently have.

Thanks for pointing out what I obviously over-looked Redlyne

Hey man its all good, haha im not trying to battle out honda vs. toyota with you, i love your generation of accord, i actually prefer it over the camry..the new camrys however look killer from the outside (the interiors:thumbsdow )...Hondas new direction however is a bit confusing and Im not sure if it will allow them to yield the results they desire

I voted Honda, 'cause I simply love my 92 Integra:love:

I do however like the Sylvias from Toyota as well as Lexus' SC430

Trevor can't believe you don't like that car:dunno: it's so sweet!

All toyotas newer cars seem aimed at old people except the celica, which i am not a fan of at all.

The older ones like the two and the supra were amazing though. What happened? haha

I agree the camry looks pretty good. The new corollas are kinda :thumbsdow

On the performance front, Nissan, Toyota close second. Too bad we don't get much of the performance cars and parts here from either company.

But if I were to choose the best one of the bunch that does stuff best which is important to me, Subaru!!! Safety, AWD, all road capabilities, practicality, utility and reliability on thier ENTIRE line-up.

Mikko

No further explanation then? Well then I pick Subaru, for their no nonsense approach and good mechanical build quality. No one needs that much all wheel drive though, so they are rather limited to motorsports people and those who have to get around very slippery bad roads.

I agree the camry looks pretty good. The new corollas are kinda :thumbsdow no doubt! most toyotas are bland, boring, and devoid of FUN! honda all the way!

shit i shouldnt say that...i drive a toyota

There is practically no difference between civics and corollas. Then Celica versus SiR and RSX, accords and camry's.

I think/suspect the difference is in your head, Jeff. Too much watching ads.

fyi, i dont even own a tv. im just going by the fact that ive driven tons of hondas and toyotas. hondas tend to have nicer road feel and steering feedback...whereas toyotas tend to be softer cars that give less sensations to the driver. toyotas also tend to have smoother engines than honda, but honda engines are usually more free revving and highstrung (aka fun)

again, these are all just generalizations and there are definietly exceptions, but for the most part, the generatliztions holds true.

Maybe it's like that in that part of the world? MR2 spyder, Celica TRD, Corolla TRD... fun stuff! Also overall the suspension is turned softer and more power assist in the steering in North America.

Mikko Im not sure what kinds of vehicles are available to you in Sweden but you would probably be dissapointed with the vehicles available to canadians

Mikko
11-17-2002, 07:50 PM
Hmmm :dunno: yes.. Civic Type R, Accord Type R, Evo's, STI's. But no NSX's though, have to get those imported :)

Looking at the manufacturers pages there, it all looks like crap, except Mercedes and BMW. So much fun stuff missing (except the odd manufacturer). Then with the softer suspension and worse steering. :barf:

sometimes i drive my moms solara, my god, that thing has the worst body roll ever...and the brake dive is insane. the accord coupe on the other hand feels very flat thru the corners.
but the solara is more quiet and the engine is way torqueyer

I accidently posted this same post in the wrong thread - but here it is again at it's intended place.

The 205 GTi is much more fun! It's smaller (ugh, scary), no servo steering (extremely good feedback), a fair bit lighter and an engine that is a lot like the ol Hachiroku's, high revved. It's just that it feels too unsafe that keeps me a way from it a tad bit. hmmm.

I was just out taking pics. I took one of a black Peugeot 206. Nice coincidence. Here's two unrevealing pics of poor quality.
