Anyone know the differance... I talked to a guy in tunerworks, and buddy says that genuine honda parts are the exact same as after market copies... Then I went and talked to an auto body shop guy, and he tells me that the parts arn't as good of fit... So wtf, what do you guys think? genuine honda parts are alot more money, but if I can get it cheapers for the exact same part, why not?

Most aftermarket parts fit just as good as original parts. They are exactly that - copies.

Some aftermarket fit like garbage.
Although it is less expensive, you get what you pay for.
I would definately go with Genuine parts, if u dont have the money then choose the next best thing right?

There is probably a chance you might come across a bumper that fits like factory, but are you willing to risk it?

It depends on what parts they are... Some you would be better with OEM and other aftermarket...

If you want OEM Parts, call us and ask for Bob (me). Mention you saw this post on Beyond.ca. We give the Beyond.ca members a discount on OEM Honda parts (we work out of T&T Honda).

unless the parts are WAAY cheaper for the aftermarket, I'd go OEM because if there are fitment issues, the additional adjusting and body work would probably make it cost more than OEM...

Your talking about jobber parts then? I hear they should pretty much be the same, but i would prefer oem stuff where possible.. the jobber parts are a fraction of the price though..

jobber parts suck! i got a filler panel that goes between the hood and bumper on my civic and it fits like garbage, i got a jobber passenger side mirror for my car and it fits like garbage. I would get oem stuff especially if you ever plan on selling your car, people will question you when they see parts on your car that are not made by honda

Yea Bob gave me a good quote...
Contemporary:
OEM 330 for the hood
OEM 270 Bumper

TunerWorks:
AfterMarket 350 for the hood
AfterMarket 220 Bumper...

Sounds fishy eh... Reconsidering buying the lighting and HIDs from em now...

Tunerworks is a great shop but they don't always have the lowest prices.

^^ yeah they're not Wal-Mart so stuff may be cheaper at other places...

Tunerworks are known for their aftermarket sales, support and service, not for replacement parts. Besides it's no surpirse that CMS will have lower prices on HONDA parts, they are part of a HONDA dealership.

if u want to find the best fit and a good price, go to a salvage yard, (there are quite few) and look for used parts since u will need to paint then anyway

The general rule with cars is you get what you pay for.

You should consider upgrading certain parts. For the price of an OEM Hood, why not fork over a little extra cash and get a nice carbon fiber one? You just pay the difference since insurance is already covering the cost of the OEM part.

If you are after replacement parts, at least you are guaranteed a perfect fit if it's OEM. Why take the risk?
