I thought red light cameras are supposed to help reduce accidents? :dunno: I've seen 3 accidents since they installed that camera there.

I lived in that area for 10 years and I never could quite figure out why so many people crashed there.. it is a big spot for crap happening.

I was reading somewhere, that since they put the camera there, there has been something like 20 small acidents there from people slamming there brakes so they won't go through the lights.

so in other words, red light cameras deter major accidents from people running red lights, but increase the number of accidents caused from rear ending people

i think the city might have to rethink this one :dunno:

mindya small accidents are better than large ones

I drove by there just after it happened. East bound traffic was totally blocked and west bound was only on lane. There was a really nice new silver golf gti that crumpled its front end. Kinda shitty. I think the city bus rear ended someone too.

:werd: I always get nervous going thru that intersection cause you never know when it might go yellow. I usually end up doing a 100kmh as i pass through to avoid the light.

That intersection IS cursed. i swear the accidents there are BAD too, and so often.

When ever its my turn to turn left on a green (not an arrow) I don't even bother...i just sit there and wait for the arrow. People honk at me but whatever...I am scared of that intersection. And I live next to it!

Fall 2003. I just wish they would open up all 3 lanes of crowchild during construction!

i wonder if they're building a crossover at nosehill drive/crowchild trail, or stoney trail/crowchild trail. Since they built the 3 crossovers, the traffic there's pretty bad.

This wasn't in the intersection though, they just started piling up along the road.
