Yea, I know! I was cheering for the cubs to make the wildcard, but I must say that the Astros are a surpirise! They were like 10 games back in August! Then they kicked some ass!

And yes, dreaming is good, I would perfer to see the Twins beat the Yankees but I want to see the Sox and Yankees, because this year 110% its the sox year! They have been Awsome this year and no matter how bitter I was when Nomar was traded Cabrara has been very good and thank god Nomar went to the Cubbies! My 2nd fav team in the majors!!

Baseball's playoff system is fucking stupid. 30 teams play 162 games to get the right to play a 5 game series.

Half the teams are out by July, the need to go 8 teams per league, still having division winners like Hockey and Basketball, or atleast 6 teams a league like football, and give 1st round byes. All series should be 7 games too.

St. Louis vs. Boston, and St. Louis will win on a Larry Walker Walk off homerun, Go Canada. Better luck next year bean town, but by then the Yankees will have bought more pitchers and will be back on top.

I do agree that the MLB playoff system is really dumb and that there should be more teams going to the playoffs, however I disagree that all series should go to seven games for the main reason that it drags the season out even longer! 5 game series for the first round in baseball makes the teams go at eachother alot more than say a 7 game series might. IMO, the NHL should follow suit of the NBA and put the first two rounds two a 5 game series..make it even more interesting. And besides do you really want to be watching the Stanley Cup finals in July when it's so beautiful outside?

Seriously, baseball players must be the most superstitious athletes. Doesn't SI need approval before they put you on the cover? Anyways, having a short playoffs does make baseball more intense. That's the only way they can make MLB exciting. I didn't watch a single inning of regular season but I couldn't pull myself away from the Yankees and Twins game.

hmmmm, i'm not the biggest fan of baseball, but I do catch it sometimes during the world series. glad to see that the yanks, redsox series has come down right to the wire! especially after the sox were 0-3. too bad seattle's not in it though, ichiro is the best player ever!

i still think the yanks are gonna pull it off.....back in new york, lost three straight......statistically the odds will be in their favour, but then again this is just one game.

The Boston - NY rivalry is the biggest in all pro sports.

Pedro really started to crank the fastball with Olerud. Haven't seem him throw 95-97 in a few years :burnout:

Whoever the Sox are going to face, either or, both the Astros and the Cardinals seem to have taxed bullpens. Isringhausen's been stinking up the joint last 2 appearances and has been mediocre overall. Houston's in a little better shape with Lidge, but with 2+ innings every outing, and the bullpen coming in early..yikes!
