I kno its not a lot of money but im wondering what kind of car i should get for like 5,000-7,000(US). I also want to get a system and do other stuff to it just don't know what. I'm thinking a Galant, Maxima, and any car you guys suggest but just don't know what year or anything either. I don't really care about racing makign it fast and stuff i just want a nice looking car liek most here(im only 17 with a not good paying job...hopefully new one next summer thats good paying)

a 4th gen honda accord. not much potential for anything, but damn its reliable. its also good on gas, comfortable to drive, and reasonably cheap unlike many other hondas.

you can throw the h22 prelude vtec engine into an accord very easily

i have no clue how to do that  but if i kept the accord throughout senior year and did stuff to it as i got money you think i could make it nice?

if ur all about the show of the car, go with a honda for sure, accord coupe or civic coupe.

Go with a 5 Speed 4th Gen Maxima. For $7000US you'd get a really great car and have the cash for a stereo and some mods. Check out Maxima.org - lots of good info. Oh yeah, stay with the 4 Dr - at 17, insurance will be expensive for a coupe.

4th Gen Maxima's resale value in the states is worse than in Canada. You can definitely get one in your price range for sure.

There is one caveat though. The 4th gens (95-99) are actually quite expensive to maintain (when something breaks down) so I'd grab a 95 or 96 model and have whatever money left over to sit in your account just in case repairs are needed. Oxygen sensors and knock sensors are the most common problem on the Maximas. Very easy to repair yourself but if you ever need a mechanic to replace it for you, bring the jelly and a cushion!

The Maximas also require 91+ octane so be prepared. That could be enough to sway a decision.

Good luck!

if ur thinkin maxima, go with the ca31, more car for the money IMO, and u'll hav plenty left for mods.

Time to learn, you will appreciate it after a while.

The Maxima has a good engine and it's fairly tough. It would be a toss up for me between the 4th gen accord and a mid 90's Maxima.

ca31 is the early 90's maxima, has a great look 2 it. terminal year was 94 i think.

go with the maxima...ive had 2, a 2000 5 spd and a 2003 6 spd. They are very good cars...one of my friends has a 97 max and he has about 150,000 miles on it and it still drives like new.
