Hey man. To be honest I would recommend just buying it new.

You can pick them up for around 100 bucks, and most importantly, they have warranty. Burners are finicky. Sometimes they last years, sometimes they die after a week or 2.

Just a safe way to go.

I wouldnt buy a used burner either, my first dvd-rw i bought 1.5 years ago i took back in like 2 days to get a repalcement cause it had a problem.

bought a new ben-q a couple weeks ago and took that back to get the pioneer cause the ben-q was crap and burning ripples.

new is more but probably worth it for exchange and warranty.
