I know I can get Michelin X-Latitudes (235/R60/16) for about $750 installed @ Costco
I can also get Nokian Hakkapelitta RSI (235/R60/16) for about $866 installed @ Kal-Tire

They are going on a Rav4

Are there any other choices? or better prices for these tires?

Thanks,
M

Why don't you look at using a 215/65R16? This will give you a narrower footprint which will help you with snow traction, and they are usually a bit less expensive...

I know there is another option that is close to the spec you mentioned that is 215R7016. It's only about $4 dollars or so different from the 235. I was told by one of the tire guys that since the Rav is the 4x4 upgrade, I should stay with the 235 because of the wider rim on the 4x4.

If your Rav4 came with a 235/60R16, it is a 27.0 inch tall tire (give or take a tenth of an inch brand to brand). The 215/65R16 is 27.0 inches tall. The 215/70R116 that was suggested to you is one full inch taller at 28.0. This is too tall and is not the right size to go with if you want it to work properly.

If you use the 215/65R16, they are substantially less expensive, and are the right size for your Rav4.

Now if it came with the 215/70R16, and somebody has changed the tires in the past to 235/60R16, then the speedo calibration will be set up for the taller tire, but if not, then I would use the 215/65...
