uh, this is a really cool racing vid. If you havn't seen it, I suggest you watch it.

This car looks really twitchy but I think it's just because of the effects of the downforce at cornering limits.

That is the official RUF press release video from around 1986-1987 or so.

The car is the "Yellowbird" which won the Car&Driver "Worlds Fastest Car" shootout in 1987 beating two Porsche 959's(one was a factory race version), Koieng twin turbo Ferrari Testarossa, Benz AMG Hammer, Ferrari GTO and a slew of other big-buck exotics.

They don't call the RUF testdriver "sideways" Stefan for nothing.

That guy didnt even have a helmet on... A couple times I thought he was going to lose it too ! scare the shit out of me... I guess he knows if he is going that fast a helmet wont save him !!

And he would have taken a minute or two off his time by not sliding around like a doofus. 8:25 around the ring in a RUF tuned car is SLOW.

damn fine raceing vid.. A helmet is NOT required at the nurburgring, nor is signing a waiver or anything else. When you pay your 20dm to use the track (the track is open to the public normally, arrive and drive), its with the understanding that what you are doing is danerous and the safety crew could be scraping you off the armco with a spatula if you mess up.
