mzn1 does have the 'non recording' issue (http://www.minidisct.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=21759&perpage=10&highlight=mzn1%20ribbon&pagenumber=5) but it's in mint condition works fine as a player. does not come with earphones or remote as well other than that everything in the box and the orginal box will be included as well.

st-70 isn't in the greatest shape but works great as a daily user. comes with charge cradle, adaptor, remote, and earphones.

-5 nimh batteries are included, 3 sony nh14wm, 1 panasonic, and 1 sharp (sharp only last 4 hours, all the others have less than 15 charge cycles on them)

-minidisc optical cable

-roughly 20 md's (axia's, maxwells, sony neiges 02/03, color collection)

Are you sure MZN1 doesnt record? I had the same MD and it recorded and everything. Or is it just this MD player?

Yes I'm sure, and it'll probably happen to your n1 as well. read the following:
http://www.minidisct.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21759&perpage=10&highlight=mzn1%20ribbon&pagenumber=1

the gist of it:
'The only reason the ribbon broke, is because of extensive opening and closing of the unit.

It appears that sony has attempted to solve this problem, by gluing it to chasis in almost every space possible, to limit the movement as much as possible. Nevertheless it seems to get brittle over time, (remember that MD is exposed to hot/cold weather etc), so eventually the ribbon snaps. '
