Canadian businessman Alexander Shnaider will enter F1 in 2006 with his Midland racing team. Shnaider has pledged an annual budget of 100 million dollars for the team which would land them between jordan and the now defunct (sp?) Jaguar. Midland will use Dallara chassis but hasn't found an engine supplier yet. This info is from the October 17th edition of the globe and mail, i'm not sure if this is on their web site or not.

i think bernie and max were thinking of buying cosworth to mass produce entry level engines to facilitate start up teams like Midland or just shitty teams like minardi and jordan

$100M budget for an F1 team is really not enough and will only get you cars that run at the back of the grid.

Isn't this to guy that wants a GP in his native Russia?

He said that the team will be primarily a russian team and he is pushing hard for a russian GP.

BAR Honda is one of the bigger spenders in F1.

100 million will be a considerable sum in 2006 with the new rules and tobacco laws. Think how much money Ferrari will loose from Marlboro alone. 100 million and a good driver could and should be enough for a points finishing team which is very good.

from what i remember Ferrari's budget is over $420million and runner-up is Toyota with over $350million, well props to the team if they can even get more than 10 points if they do race
