noise gets worse the longer the shutter is open w/ digital cameras.

If you cam manually keep your camera at ISO100 it will come out the best.

My 1hr and 45min exposure was pretty bad at high res, but PS can do wonders.

Is that from Nose Hill? I took a pic like that a while back from there. Just wondering.

Anyways..I noticed you drove a Mazda 3. You should come out to some of our meets.

Nice shots D'z Nutz.

You used the 18-55mm for those last 2?!

Come from someone with your expertise, that's a huge compliment :)

Yeah, the fly shots (along with the spider ones) were taken with the 18-55mm, but also using the 50mm F/1.8 II lens reversed in front of it. I bought a macro coupler ring for it, so no more hand holding! Hahaha! I can't justify spending crazy $$$ on a decent macro lens, so budget macros are what I have to come up with :D Maybe later on when I get better.

I just figured out how to adjust the F-stop on the 50mm when I'm using it in reverse, so hopefully I'll be getting better DOF now...

Did you buy that adapter ring locally? I need one too.

No, I didn't. I bought it off this guy on eBay:

58mm/58mm ring:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=30059&item=3849033762&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

or if you want the 52mm/52mm ring:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=30059&item=3848850465&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Only costed me like $13CAN after shipping, but for some reason, it took two weeks to get here!

It took a bit of searching around to do, but I found a 52mm/58mm step up ring in stock locally at The Camera Store (http://www.thecamerastore.com/). If you're gonna need one, they should have a couple there still. They didn't have any macro couplers in stock, but they said they could order it. Give them a try and see what they say if you want to just get something locally.
