Hi, my friend wants to buy a new Mazda 3 in the Calgary area...
All the dealers seem determined to not offer any "deals"..

Does anyone have any ideas or leads - specific people to talk to that could help her with this situation???

Thanks!

If he/she is a recent post-secondary grad, I think mazda gives a $750 (or maybe even $1000) rebate. It should be on their website. I've seen it advertised @ the univ.

Thats the only lead I've got!

good luck:thumbsup: they're nice cars for the money.

Hash,

Thanks for that! She graduated just past the limits of that offer....

Any others? Does talking to 'fleet sales' people help?

the 3s are selling so well that you probably wont be able to find any deals. Kramer mazda will be moving soon so maybe theyll have some sort of moving sale. Look for old Inventory i.e. 2004's to find your best deals

^ won't they just take it over to the new location?

When I bought one, my dealer (at sunridge) gave me some of his business cards. Show one when you buy, I get $100, and we'll split it

They don't budge much on price, maybe to clear out some 2004's since the 2005's are arriving.

Hey Blitz,

How do you like your Mazda3? Any issues with it?

Thanks :)

No issues or problems so far. It's a great daily driver, handles great, really nice tranny, lots of features etc. Not the fastest thing out there, but it is fun to drive. Any more questions, let me know.

Thanks Blitz,

Good to hear you like your Mazda3! I am not sure what dealership to buy it from, they are not willing to negotiate much on the price. I talked to all three dealerships and they don't seem to be willing to give me any sort of discount. The price they quoted was even higher than the Internet price.

try shoping around the end of the month. i know lots of sales people need to fill a certain quata buy the end of the month. and yes also going for a 2004 model rather then a 2005 model will help you out alot with them droping the price.

:werd: IMO i think the 6 is so much hotter than the 3, but money always comes first, so 3 is the choice

The finance rates on the 6 are quite a bit cheaper. You would be surprised how close the monthly payments are on them.

The internet price doesn't include PDI and other dealership fees. It's not a really good judge of how much you're going ot pay.

Check with your employer and see if you have the X-Plan. That will at least knock a bit off the PDI and dealer charges. I ended up getting a '04 3 Sport with everything except for leather for just over $25K + GST
