I got the last one at SilverHill for $29,850. It was a demo unit with 4500km, but has warranty til 100,000km/7 years..whichever comes first.

They took almost 3k off...so it wasn't that bad of a deal. I pick it up on Wednesday...I'll have pics shortly.

It's white with black leather interior.

I thought you could have your username changed without creating a new account.

Good choice, the new body style is really starting to grow on me. Alot of potential in those cars. BTW: pm Kenny or Rage and ask for a user title change on your account. Shouldn't be a problem, that where you get all those FKA: XXXXXXX titles from!

Congrats! So how did you end up chosing the typeS over SRT-4?

Couldn't find any 04's at any of the dealerships I called so I could test drive them.

nice!

I have been meaning to test drive an '04.

What are the insurance rates for an RSX-S like? (I pay about 2K /yr for my WRX)

Don't the 05's come with 10 extra HP?

Nice purchase anyway.

Mike Wallace...the black dude. Really nice guy!

And yes, the 05's come with 10HP more, but the price was $34k + taxes.

WRX should be a tad cheaper to insure than the RSX-S.

Yeah, this one was the last '04 in Calgary at an Acura dealership, so they wanted to get as much as possible for it...but my dad got them to knock off almost $3k even though it only had 4500km. Whatever...it's still got full warranty.

I called alot of the major dealers in Calgary, but none of them had an '04 I could test drive...and I don't buy a vehicle without a test drive so RSX-S it was!!

In 2003 one of my relatives bought a brand new RSX Type S for $29,800 + tax. He got it in Ontario (where he lives).

He was hagling with a couple dealerships there. After he bought the car one of the other dealers called him to see if he still wanted to buy a car. When he told that saleman what he paid for his car, the salesman wouldn't believe it. My relative showed the salesman his bill, and the salesman photocopied it to show his sales manager. He wanted his manager to know how cheap the other dealer was selling cars for, so that he too would be allowed to sell them with such a discount (so he could sell more cars).

Anyway, how much discount can you expect on a new RSX? My relative got about $3-4k off of his, but I haven't heard of anyone in AB getting such a discount.

Well it wasn't brand new...has 4500km on it. So that's mainly why I got such a discount.

1) Banks aren't too wild about financing 10 year old cars.
2) MkIV Supras carry no warranties.
3) Too much power, IMO, for an 18 year old.
4) Not the best year round car.
5) Not common / easy to find for sale.

They're not bad cars, but they're a bad choice, IMO, for a daily driver in Calgary. :D

And you were okay with buying a demo?? That big warranty is nice, but that only deals with workmanship and not "wear" items.

Not trying to be negative, but I haven't exactly treated demo cars "nicely". Tired to hit all the performance aspects of the car to see what it can do as I was comparing cars trying to figure out which is worth to buy.

In either case, the RSX is a big step up from the Probe and you will have the better more aggresive styling the 2005 seems to be lacking. Enjoy the new car.

No kidding, on the RSX test drive we took, the saleman didn't care how hard I drove it.

In fact, when he was driving it, he was WAY harder on it than I was (Westside Acura/Edmonton). He hit redline (or more?) EVERY single shift.

AGREED!! I took the Orange 05 out for a rip at Northwest Acura , after I got onto Crowchild I maxed out every gear. That's just me. Who knows what other type of testing it has gone through.

You got the extended warranty though so it should help a little. Besides, Honda engines are designed to be driven the hell out of. Your demo model should be fine.
