I personally like the hardtop better than the convertable.

Not a huge fan of the styling especially the rear end.

badseed, Is there a specific reason for that or is it just your personal feeling?

good looking, but expansive, lack of power, poor handling, and out of date interior

That would be my opinion. your thread = "what do you guys think of the crossfire" and thats what comes to mind when I think of the looks.

ok, i don't have a problem with your posting your opinion, i was just wondering if there was maybe something that would affect my decision to buy it.

Looks wise I really like it - its what I like most about it really. Power wise I think the 3.8L limited edition that was posted on here a while back would really be ideal - it needs more power. The interior is nice and the sound system is pretty serious.

I test drove one during the Chrysler Gold event thingy a few months ago in the summer. They only had the automatic for the road test and it had no power at all, very sluggish. Also there are very huge blindspots with this car,.
But it was pretty comfortable for me (6'3) and the stock sound system was good.
Overall for the price, I'd suggest doing some comparative research.

What is the base price of the crossfire?

Just over $40,000 for the coupe, just under $70,000 for the SRT-6 roadster. All the editions are fully loaded (coupe, coupe ltd, roadster, roadster ltd, SRT-6 coupe, SRT-6 roadster).

I took one for a spin in early September and wasn't too impressed. Pretty neat interior not really a fan of that gimpy little spoiler that pops up on the back. Acceleration isn't anything special but it has alot of top end speed. My boss and I got it up too 190 in 6th at only like 3500rpm so i'm assuming it can go quite a bit higher. All in all not a bad car!

It's claimed to top out at 241 km/k, but for $40-70 g's I can think of many cars that'll top 240 as many of you probably agree.

I tried the coupe at the Chrysler event at Spruce Meadows. It was very cramped inside and my head was touching the roof (and I'm only 6'). If I played with the seats more, there might have been more headroom. My wife wouldn't even drive it - she sat so low in the car she couldn't see the hood. The doors and windows seem to be really high up compared to your seating position. If you feel claustrophobic at all, this isn't the car for you. A Miata (with the top up), for example, has much less interior space, but feels far more "open". The power was okay - but not what I thought it should be for the price. It handles pretty nicely though - I had the tires squeling and stability control kicking in the whole way through their little skid pad (which was fun, as most people chickened out through that).

The Crossfire, underneath, is the same as an SLK320. Think of it as a less expensive Benz. With a manual tranny they are capable of 14 second quarter miles. They should handle well (did I mention Benz?) and are RWD.

I like them, but they're not really my style. If I was going to spend $40 large I'd go a bit further and look Cobra.

I really like it. Recognition wise, it's rare and many people do not specifically know what type of car it is. Even more surprising is when they find out it's a Chrysler. Go for it!

Btw are you looking at the SRT model or the regular?

Also got to sit in one at the Spruce Meadows thing. I ain't fond of it - it looks alright from the outside, but the inside is kinda cramped, and it's like looking out through gunslits. Put it this way - I wouldn't wanna be beside one on a bike.

But then I don't like the Magnum or 300 either, and they've all got those teeny little windows.

not bad, kinda like a poor mans slk, but pretty nice.

Never driven it or been in one, so I can't comment on that, but I will say that it looks fricken sweet.

OLD SLK interior = yuck!

For the money:

$64K for a new SLK350 with 270HP

$67K for a new Crossfire SRT-6 with 330HP

For the price, I'll take the MB.

Alot of ppl are comenting on the SRT6, which is fine, but I was mostly talking about the standard one. http://www.chrysler.com/crossfire/features/lineup/index.html

It's design is much different which might eliminate some of the complaints (i.e., spoiler, small windows, ect.)
