I was wondering if anyone ever thought of like cutting the roof of their car off and gettting it convertileized. I was wondering how much it would cost to actually change it to like a soft top or sumethin, nothin fancy.

Yeah not cheap at all - you better love your car a lot if you're going to do it - you'd be far better off selling it and buying a convertible.

not to mention once you cut off the roof of your car your handling is fucked. even if you add front & rear strut bars, monkey bar in the back and all the other chassis stiffening stuff your car is going to have unpredictable handling and it isn't gonna last because everything will be flexing that isn't meant to flex.

All you need is a sawzall and you can do it for free. I helped my buddy do it to an 88 4 door civic he had kicking around. It actually didnt affect handling all that badly.
