How does the driver's side cv shaft look? I think I might need one soon.

Also, what's all this B20 talk? Do you have some secret project underway?

Thanks guys.

haha - Drew's always got some secret project going on. Turbo this, B20 that, front/rear lips, intercoolers, springs you name it - he's probably traded/bought it at one point or another. :nut:

Time for another blast to the mountains guys? Steve, Matt when do you think your cars are gonna be ready? I think there are a few more G2ers now so it'd be cool to see some more and new people out. Let's get the ball rolling......

freakin
05-08-2005, 02:31 PM
The only thing stopping my car from being on the road is waiting for parts. I've been waiting over 2 months for a friggin' head gasket!! Last I heard it wasn't even made yet. :banghead:

I'm still hopeful for the May long weekend....but like I said, pending parts. If all goes well, I might even have a JDM YS1 LSD tranny brewing.

Any of you guys want a cheap set of 17's? My buddy bought a Jetta with them on it, but went to a 15" wheel. They're sitting in my garage and I want to get them the hell out of there. They're a thin 5-spoke, white with a blue center. Not bad looking, but I already have a set of 17's. $600, hit me up if you're interested.
I also have some other parts I want to ditch, like a black dash, and some misc engine pieces like plug wires and whatnot.

He is street_dreams on here. I think they were 17's but I could be mistaken, they didn't look that big though. IMO 18" is a bit too big. Depends what you are into I guess. If it's an all out show car then maybe that's fine. For racing they would be way to heavy.

QuasarCav

Lam-boy: Do you mind tellingme what you paid for the lip? PM me if you need to.

The teg got some treats over the weekend:

- 9007 conversion, much brighter and really easy to do. Hardest part was cipping the tabs off the drivers side headlight without slitting my wrists. Haven't driven late at night yet but i'm sure they will look awesome.

- Colder plugs, I was running the "5's" but they kept getting high speed glazed. Found the "6's" at crappy tire for cheaper than the stock plugs. Teggy seems to be happy with them.

- 2 1/4 exhaust from the cat back. I can thank Frozenrice for this one through no fault of his own. I tried installing the tips he sold me but nothing would line up right. I cut a hanger I shouldn't have and the muffler laid on the ground. I had to ghetto rig something to hold until I could get to the muffler shop. Ended up buying a full system because I'm an impulse buying whore. Definatly go with the 36" resonator. It's only a bit louder than stock and appears to be stock from the outside. I'll get some pics up later.

- More wax, OCD is hard to cure.

Woot woot.

Matt, after the head gasket, do you have to wait another break in period or should it be good to rip? Keep us posted - I think it's time for another cruise soon. Who's in?

05-14-2005, 07:15 AM
That's a good question. It's still uncertain if my engine ever got broken in since it was running so rich. The bottom end is fine, but I'm not sure how the rings are doing.

dirty_magic
05-14-2005, 03:51 PM
hey sandino, how can you call it a major cruise without the lifer knifer? a-hole. jk. wish i could be there, but as it stands, my car still isnt running. maybe mid summer ill be able to make it, but seeing as i just started an apprenticeship the chances are slim. Well just have to copy and paste my car into some pics. haha.

Anyways, got the ecu from Dave. Car still isnt the same. The ecu came from a 91, right Dave? Still obd-0, but I shouldve done some more in depth research, as the Barometric Pressure Sensor on 91's is inside the ecu, while in 1990 its in the passenger kick panel, so Im throwing a code 13. Im also throwing a code for the VSS, vehicle speed sensor, which is built into the speedo. Good thing I have 3 clusters. The code apparently can be caused by a bad sensor, or a short in the wire. So maybe Ive finally found the solution, a short in the back of my guage cluster. Well see what happens, any input?

Mike, did you get the mouldings from Tom? I still haven't heard back about my trunklid. Mind you I haven't paid for anything yet....but haven't heard back either way. Also, did you find anything else worthwhile on the that DB chasis? It looked like a base model and the interior was brown, so I didn't spend much time looking at it.

frozenrice
05-15-2005, 11:49 PM
Yeah I got the mouldings from him. I ended up repainting them anyways. I'm not 100% happy with the way they turned out though, but they'll pass. As far as that DB goes, there wasn't a whole lot that I could use since, like you said, it was a brown interior and base model.
