Matt, thanks a ton again for lending a hand. With the two of us, it probably took about half the time it would have if I was doing it myself. I'll drive it around some more later today and to make sure things are okay, but it looks like tomorrow's a go for me afterall.

The Greddy Stainless Steel header will be soon!

How much for the headers i would like to call dibs if you have a good price for them. but tell me how much your looking for and we shall talk

I'm guessing a couple of hundred bucks :) I'm gonna repolish it and make it look brand spanking new. And by the way this header is discontinued, very very very rare.

I should be able to finish it up in a couple of days. It will be brand new again once i'm done with it :)

But u are the first in line :)

so by a couple you mean $100 cause i can do $100
:D and dont waste your time on repolshing them that i can do

$200 is an absolute steal for a good header. I hope it finds a good home. You can't even get a decent stainless knockoff from DC or Megan for even close to that price.

Hello!

What is te size of the drain plug gasket(washer)?

Last time crappy tire gave the wrong number and I had to re-use the old one. Anyone know off by hand?

Oh......

Whats your guys opinion on oil? What do you use? When do you change?

I use regular 5w-30, change every 3K because I'm a loser and oil changes provide something to do.

freakin
08-15-2005, 04:28 PM
I use 5W30, and change at 5,000 unless it's starting to look nasty. And what are you doing buying filters from Canadian Tire? I try to run OEM filters, they come with a ring shrink wrapped on to them. Dieter gets them at a really reasonable price.

zuhalter
08-15-2005, 04:42 PM
Hey Freakin, the suspension is all back together. The rims are another story. After I was rejected at alberta wheel repair my dad helped me to pound the wheel straight again. It is probably 80% better which would not be that bad of a ride so I thought "no problem". Some of the weights got knocked off and I needed a balance. I took it in today and they couldn't balance it because it was still f'ed up, and basically they said it was garbage. Unless someday I can mod my g2 to run on 3 wheels the other ones are garbage too.

What I am asking is if you have any information that might be useful for me to find the source of these wheels, like from which store they were bought. My only real hope of salvaging them now is to try to find a replacement for the bent one. They have no names or markings on them. At the very least I can salvage the tires, but I don't think I can really afford to buy another complete set of rims right now

QuasarCav: I use 10w30 every 8 or 9000 unless it doesn't look so good.

freakin
08-15-2005, 05:04 PM
Unfortunately those rims were on a buddy's car when he bought it. He went with a different rim and asked me to sell them off. I can ask him tonight, but I doubt it'll get anywhere. You could always just keep two of them as track wheels and salvage the other tires. Sucks to hear about that though. Is Alberta Wheel Repair the only shop in town? I hear enough horror stories about them as it is, so maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

and 8-9K??? man, you're asking for problems. I thought I was on the high end of oil changes going with the recomended 5,000KM. My last motor was pretty much spotless for having 230,000KM on it. No sludge, no buildup, and ran awesome. If you're even in Custom Auto, take the valve cover off the B18A that's in the showroom and take a peek at it. I sold it to Paul over there.

I havn't heard anything other than about 10k, and 5k for newer cars (could those numbers be closer for domestic cars?)... brb gotta change my oil:zzz:

When I got the car the sticker said it was done, but I did it about 5k after anyways just to be safe. Now again is another 5k later (ya only 10k since I've had it cuz it was parked for a while) so I guess I'm gonna try not to ask for more problems :nut:

Well I'm in the market again for rims, but at least I can salvage the tires from the other ones. I'm looking for 17" 40 series, the usual 4x100 bolt pattern, pref gunmetal, black, or silver. Right now, the cheaper the better. I have been trying to check around at various places, so if anyone has a good source now would be a really good time to share :) I didn't really budget/forsee this coming, but I <3 my teg so I think its worth it.

question:
went to kaltire to get a screw pulled out right.. so i thought hey i might as well get an allignment there too (as you suggested) so all is well.. 30 min later an employee calls and says that he cant do it but only do the screw.
he says that its cause my front/right upper control arm needs to be replaced. i ask how much, he says $425.09.......
does this make any sence to anyone? cause my brother went there with his 95 eclipse and they said the exact same thing to him... do i sence lying?

anyways hope you guys had fun at the meet... sylvan lake sucked shit. :(

Go for a second opinion with another shop. If you do need upper control arms, you should look in to something like the Omnipower units. That way you can forgo installing a camber kit later. Either that or just get one from a wrecker and replace the bushings with some energy suspension poly pieces.

By any chance was/is your front right making funny thunking/squeaking noises? I've got one coming from mine. Originally thought it was the intake bumping around, but I isolated it with some foam pads and I'm still getting the sound. Now I'm suspecting something to do with suspension.

I just noticed that. Get a second opinion first, and see what's broken. I'm sure there are other manufacturers that have a DA application. I'd check G2IC and see what people are happy with. There's tons of reviews on parts there. It's pretty much the ultimate refference for our cars.

PS, are you lowered?

Yeah. i get it mostly when im turning slowly to the left. i know what that is i think. it is the shock.. its loose where the car and the shock meet where the strut bar goes... ( lol like my knowledge) but yea my friend had that problem with his car in the rear. the same sounds.. thunking like somethings about to come out of the engine. apparently it was a rubber gasket that goes under the bolts or something that got loose or just wore out.... ?
im sure its not our intakes tho.

Was it the shock itself or the shock mount? I just redid my shocks and springs last October and I checked the bolts and strut bar the other day they seemed snug. This is so pissing me off, I'm scared something will break while I'm driving. In retrospect, I'm thankful nothing went on the trip back on the 1A. Could have been nasty considering the velocities that we were hitting.

I think I got that suspension rattle fixed. Outer tierod was very loose- you could twist it like a motobike throttle very easily. well guys I have a question..

I would like to start an integra club for calgary (G2) but if anyone is interested LET ME KNOW!

If I have enough people intrested I will ask mods/admins for help to get us a new section under car clubs.

I will get some DAsqaud stickers for us and such.

we'll plan more regular meets, more get togethers and such.

(if the plan works then I will need to get more info, show some organization and most likely it will go through, but if I don't get intrest which won't break my heart haha I just won't start the club)

haha...what if you only have a DB? Can you still be in the DAsquad? Your idea sounds interesting though.

k just got my car ... never felt better.. lol the ride is so smooth. the clunking sounds where from the the control arm ball bearing. its supposed to keep the wheel in position, but it got loose and was moving it in and out. Kaltire says the control arm was going to be 420 bucks as i posted before... the guy got it for 100 bucks... like wtf kind of lying bitches are these? trust them? heh..
anyways i'd get it checked out or find that omni set and replace it yourself. its worth it..

im interested in this DAsquad..

Interesting. Just to clarify, did you mean it was the upper control arm ball joint?
I got into my car today to take it in for an alignment and the creaking/groan/clunking noise was there again but went away after driving it for a bit. With a bit of ironic luck Crappy Tire wouldn't touch it cause it was lowered so I drove over to Honda West. They couldn't get me in to look at it but from what I described to them, they said the noise shouldn't have anything to do with suspension since it doesn't happen consistently. After that I got it in to Tirecraft in Crowfoot and their front end inspection didn't turn up anything either.:banghead: :banghead: This is really starting to piss me off.

Do we have to call it the "DAsquad"? G2IC.com....?

Isn't that why we have a club called Alberta Integras? When the website is back running head over to www.abtegs.com. We had a server crash. Its supposed to be back up by tomorrow.

I'm liking the idea of more organization, meets, and our own section....but I don't think we need a new group. We already hve G2IC, and ABtegs.

Oh, and I hate to prove Sandino right, but I didn't get my motor last Friday. I didn't get out of SAIT until 4:30, so I couldn't make it down in time. I did however find a hatch for my Volvo and got it painted and put on over the weekend. Now I won't smell like gas all of the time.

Also, I'm sure a few of you have heard me mulling around the idea of building a killer NA B18A and putting it in an EF hatch. Well after painting that Modifier DA that Sandino gave me this weekend, I've decided to buy another G2. I'd like to pick up a DA9 this time and make a track car out of it. If anyone knows of a DA with a decent body and a shit motor, let me know. I'm looking for something in the >$1000 mark. Key factor here = shit motor.

Did you guys lose everything? Just checked it and still not up....it's been a couple weeks. How long does it take to reboot a server. You must be running WinME. :D :poosie:

Hmmm well it seems my tranny has a fluid leak that I noticed yesterday. Ever since I had that one put in it didn't seem all that great. Got if from A-1 go figure! I've had to put new fluid in it every six months to get it smooth again. It should last a lot longer than that, like a year or two depending on use. I'm thinking it has been leaking slowly almost the whole time but not enough to leave any trace when parked. Until now, I hit a rock on saterday so maybe that is what made it worse. I think it's time for a new tranny. :dunno:

Both are YS1's (cable LS) from 92 tegs. One is from my car, 230,000 KM, and sifts nice and clean, no grinds. The other one is from Tom's car, has 170,000KM, but never had a chance to run it. Should be fine, but can't verify it.

Thanks for the head's up, but that one's double the price I want to spend. I'd actually rather be spending somewhere in the $500 range, but I think I have to be realistic here. I'm looking for one that needs major mechanical work....ie, spun a bearing, threw a rod, low compression, etc. Also, hopefully an OBD-1 car (92-93). Really all I want is a shell. I have my own drivetrain to put in one.

If you are looking for just the shell and have your own drivetrain to throw into it then why does it have to be an OBD-1 car? all thats different is the wireing harness and ECU with you prolly will have a new one with your Drive train now wouldn't you?

freakin

obd1 would save me swapping the wiring harness...but it's not crucial. It would also get me all the little things I like....the newer bumpers, gauges, etc. I'd take either if the price was right.
