Hey Jaylo, do you have any progress pictures of your turbo install? I'm always toying/thinking about ways to do it without losing the A/C or P/S. Looking at my car, I could go with a 1/2 rad, but the condensor for the A/C would still be a problem. Since it'll be a year round daily driver, I can't afford to lose the washer fluid tank either. I'm trying to figure out how to run the I/C piping around all this. Any ideas?

Yup sure, I can send it all to you via e-mail, the charge pipe routing on the Hot side would be tricky. The only way that I can think of is to route the piping downwards, between the crossmember and the bottom of the radiator support.

Then you have to notch your stock bumper at the bottom. So it's pretty much going underneath the car.

Unless you want to do it like how I did mine, cut off some of the radiator support and go straight to the flimsy metal there. You will see on the pictures once I sent it to ya.

So I finally found some time to start putting my motor together this weekend. Corey loaned me some tools, so I went hard on Sunday. I would have finished up the shortblock but one of my pistons had to be cleaned up due to short love affair with a floating valve (check out the shiny bits in the pic). I ended up going with the USDM ITR pistons just to keep the compression ratio about 11:1. Anyhow, here are some teasers for anyone that might be interested.

There's some nice G2s up there, but yeah, I'd have to say I've seen some pretty bad ones up there too. A few years ago, I saw one with what looked to be like 13" wire rims with whitewalls.

Haven't had a chance to do that yet. Wheel bearing and hub went on the wife's car this past weekend, so I wasn't really in the mood to do anything about it yet.

My left signal light is blinking very fast. Are there separate flashers for left and right? The other side works normally.
Does it flash erratically cuz of a flasher?

I missed the miss cuz I was helping galfriends move. Any plans of getting together? You boys play ball hockey or football? We played last Monday, it was a nice day for it.

umm, i think its blinking fast cause..

a) you have a burnt out bulb on your left side
b) something to do with a relay? I'm not sure..it happened to my friend but it wasjust a burnt out bulb.

Whats stopping us meeting in winter? I'm doubting that most of us wont drive all year round. We can have a icy handbrake drift meet.

I might make it down for Sunday if I remember. I always seem to miss stuff like that and remember an hour later.

Anyhow, I finished up my rotating assembly tonight. Now I just need to lap the valves and start slapping it together. PS, P73's are a pain. No torque spec for the rods, you have to go until you get 0.006" of stretch. Kinda hard to do with a block girdle in the way!

Here's some pics from tonight if anyone's interested:

Good stuff. Does anyone know a site that has the specs for various Honda engines? I am somewhat a newbie and would like to read up on the different engines' specs and swapability.

Thanks.

PS

Possibly looking for:

- 91 GS driver seat. Mine is slightly ripped open, and a bit squeaky.

- Front bumper bulb.

My wiper seem to overrotate. The driver side one would go past the edge of the windshield. Just need to unscrew and adjust?

Here's a good site for swapping engine internals:
http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/compcalc/compcalc.php

What are you looking to do?

Also with the wipers, mine do that as well. I've heard it's because of worn parts in the linkage.

No, not gonna do anything at this point. I am curious as to what I can do in the future, or what car I might want to acquire.

Interesting thing is that I have had quite good services at different shops and aftermarket stores with my Prelude and now Teg. With my Bimmer I didn't like the various places I went to. People tells me this and that shop have great service but the 2-3 places I went to didn't return my calls, were slow to serve etc. Probably signs that I shouldn't be driving a BMW.

Teg users are rather friendly and helpful, at least the ones here anyways. I am sure there are crazy Teg drivers out there.

Just got back from a wrecker tour. There's a DA at Bucks with black leather seats. The fronts looked pretty bad, but the backs looked decent. Someone had tried to rip out the bottom section and bent it a little, but I'm sure it'll bend back. I was going to take them, but the 4-door seats are different. It also has a super ricey muffler if you want one of those.

I also picked up an EF armrest. It's blue and looks like it would work in a DA no problem. $50 if anyone wants to try it out.

The Legend and Merkur were already stripped of any good parts. :thumbsdow

Most of the interior, minus part of the seatbelts (otherwise I would've taken them). Motor's gone, and the console is ripped apart.

I've been looking for a while, driving with a coffee and a cigarette with a standard is not very easy. I had one that clipped on the door in my old teg and it held up pretty good.

The taurus DIN cupholder looks like ass in my opinion.

Do you guys think I should go with 16's in the spring? I'm most likely going to get the Eibach 1.4/1.0 or the 1.8/1.4 and I was thinking that 16's might fit the wheel well a little better. I'm really liking the look of the Rota Grid because it's pretty close to a 16 inch SiR wheel.

I always thought it worked like this:
Passenger=cupholder

Dave,
I've heard rumors that some of the nicer Nissans have DIN sized cup holders that fit 100% better than the Taurus option. Look for cars like the Maxima and Sentra if you can. I'll try to keep an eye out as well.

Oh and good news for me. I'm droping off my motor this weekend or early next week to be put in my car!!! Looks like I might get a month or so out of it before it gets too shitty out.

Congrats Matt, looking forward to seeing it back on the road. Even if it's no 15 pound-boosted turbo brick ;)

As for the whole cupholer thing, I don't know if I'll ever find what I want. There was an article in Road & Track a few years back about the progression of the cupholder, and how most of them still suck ass. From that article I got the idea of a suspended arm mount. I don't know if you've seen the floating arm camera mount used in making mountain bike videos, but if you have, it's the exact same idea.

I'm pretty sure the G2's never had a cupholder, unless the USDM center console has one. My CDM/JDM console doesn't have one.

Dan, I can't belive you still have that hood. I'd totally pick it up if I didn't have one already.

Jorge, are you still looking to get some garage space? looks like I might be needing one at for December. I hvaen't had a chance to take a look around for one yet.

and next, a dumbass kid pulls up to me on my way home in his camarro. im like.. pull down your window! hes like huh, and i say.. look you have a V6 pushing probably over 300 hp.. hes like you have a v6? im like no dumbass, you do. i have v4 with 150 hp, think about it. and then i laugh so he drives off..

I'm planning on driving the Teg. I use transit for commuting, so the car is only a fairweather driver anyhow. Last year I was driving it up until mid december...then my motor went. After all the work I've put in to it, I'll need that month just to satisfy me. After that, I'll be able to put it away for a little bit. I don't think I could handle another 6 months for not using it.

As far as the garage goes. I'm sure we can find something where we're paying $200/month tops...so less than $100 eash. I'd like to find somthing heated, but chances of that are slim to none. My main thing is that it's relatively south for easy access. I'll get a hold of you in the next couple of weeks and we can try to figure something out.

KYB, Tokico (sp?), Kona are all good brands of aftermarket shocks. Price depends if you're gonna go with non-adjustable vs adjustable. Just to give you an idea, I paid just under $400 for KYB GR2s (non adjustable-pretty much a stock replacement) and $160 for HR Sport springs. Installed them myself.

I have a full set of stock springs if you have a hard time finding them. The fronts were only on the car for about a year and a half before I got lowering springs. I think the rears are original.

bigbadboss, it took me about 6 hours, only because the first corner I tried was a bitch to get out. Once I figured out the trick on how to take it out it went pretty quick.

vick7 if you need a stock one I have one from a 92.

So....I know I've said this before, but it looks like I'll have the car back for next weekend. :poosie:

The engine is basically done, just need to do the valve adjustment, bolt some random pieces on, then drop it in the car and tune it. I'm hoping to have the motor done on Tuesday night.

Here's a few teaser pics:

I just bought Dan's seats, so I have to put them in as well. If the car's ready to rock this weekend, who's in for a meet? I'll be able to confirm if everything is going according to schedule closer to Thursday.

hey guys,
whats your opinions on headlights like this:

headlights (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-92-93-ACURA-INTEGRA-JDM-PROJECTOR-HEAD-LIGHTS-LAMPS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33710QQitemZ8010328651QQrdZ1)

i know its not really jdm and stock looking, but have you seen them on a DA?

QuasarCav

The page doesn't work.

You've got 3 choices:

Stock: Looks okay, 9007 bulbs give you decent light.

JDM: Can't beat the looks, bulbs can get pricey and the right set of 1pcs would be around 200. You can get them for cheaper if you want to invest the time.

Ebay double angel eye halo JDM super projectors: Search around G2ic for some pics of them. Personally I dont think they do the front end justice, they take away from the look of the whole area.

here how about this:

the item# is: M091129
angeleye but no halos.

I think they both look horrible, the second one is less horrible but it still is a 375 dollar waste of a nice 92-93 front end.

You are asking for opinions though and what I hate you could love. If you are willing to dish out the cash for new headlights what is stopping you from the 1pcs? Do you just want better light output?

Genjuro
10-31-2005, 05:58 PM
lol no no thats not the price... i see them on ebay for about 125-200ish.

well i dont care really.. either one piece or the projectors.. its just hard finding the one piece. (been looking for 6 months)

QuasarCav

STRD has a set for 180.00 listed on their website.

Genjuro
10-31-2005, 06:02 PM
yeah i asked them a while back and they said they would sell the one piece for fucking 700....

edit: yeah just called them for the one piece... heh.. looks like i'll get them for 180ish. thanks for reminding me of strd.

now for bulbs..

If they quoted me 700 for the lights over the phone I wouldn't even give them an answer.

Make a post: WTB: 1pc headlights for DA

See what happens, Matt seems to have a knack for finding them.

This is the 2nd gen Integra thread and we are talking about 2nd gens, have you seen the BS in the other "official" car threads?

Check on G2IC as well. And yes, for some reason I keep finding sets. Whenever I find a set, I try to post a link up here. But honestly if you can find a clean set for under $200 with bulbs and they're local, I'd buy them. And by clean I mean NO yellowing. If you're going to have to clean them, then $100 is a fair price. If you get them from a shop, then you'll likely be able to exchange a dead bulb out for a good one if you notice it right away.

I think the aftermarket lights look like ass on the integras. Stick with USDM or JDM. Steve's USDM's look pretty neat with the yellow fogs and amber corners.

Also, if you buy JDM lights, invest in a spare set of H4H bulbs. They can be a bitch to find if you're in a pinch for one. You see group buys for them every once in a while on G2IC. Expect $50-$70 for a decent set. I recomend Raybrig's if you can get them.

I'll be in BC next weekend, so let me know if you find a set out there on G2IC. I'll bring them back with me.

I might be interested in the type R lip. It's for a 92-93, right? Is it carbon fibre, or painted? What parts do you need? Might be able to work a trade for something. Want an OEM lip + cash?
