I have one sitting in my garage if you need it...freebie to either of you two. It could use a little cleaning from the coke or whatever that was spilled in the car, but it works fine.

PS, anyone know any decent companies to tow away my parts car? No wheels, so it has to be flat-decked. I need to make room in there!

try getting some water on those sensor next time you're in the car wash...they're on inside of the hubs. It should get any dust off of them. My car was activating the ABS pump as soon as I started rolling (without hitting the brakes), would run for a minute, then turn off and the ABS light would come on. I just cleaned the sensors while I was doing the brakes, and it went away. You can check the ABS codes to see what's causing it. Might save you ripping out the carpet around the e-brake.

Corey, just give me a shout if you want that switch. It's just sitting in a pile of parts that I ripped off the car.

bah, nothing too crazy.

just rollin in 2nd, and I was off the groove, or crown, where the tires have folded the road down, just to the right of center in my lane,
.... touch the brakes.... locked up and tires 'hopped' the crown and I came out about a half a lane over to the left.
Just kinda gliding along watching the parked cars get closer...
if I was in 3rd, I think I may have tattooed a few cars.

whatever, abs is for chumps, lol.

/lame -20kph story of the day

cliff notes: it's winter, kids !!!

freakin
12-03-2005, 11:42 PM
I personally think that the ABS on my car is crap. I could come close to a complete stop with moderately hard braking and have everything going great, then just before you stop, the ABS comes on, the pedal goes to mush, then I roll an extra foot or two from where I would've stopped. Mind you, it has saved my ass a couple of times in the winter...but I don't think that car is going to see winter roads ever again.

I might gut it out in the spring. Anyone want ABS? :D

I had that smell on my hands :( its so hard to get off. the best i found is spray wd 40 all over your hands. now it wont get rid of the gas smell but wd 40 smells better :D ps i found a page on volvo turbos making 450 hp with like 4000 dollar worth of mods:clap:

I've got a spare obd-2 vtec dizzy. You're welcome to take parts out to test and see what you need out of it, but I'd need it back complete when you're done. I'll work on a non-vtec head to test it out, but only a bolt or two line up, so I wouldn't drive it with that casing on it.

What do you mean by the "towers"? I have stock springs for the front. Only used for a year and a 1/2 or so before I lowered. I also have the dampers (shocks) themselves but no mounting hardware. I don't know the condition of them as they were on the car when I bought it. I also have the rear shocks and springs if you need them.

My car is running but i think the ignitor is on its way out the door in dave's dizzy. I have one I can swap in I just hope i don't mess the clips when i pull them off the old one.

Anybody else notice these old obd0 dizzys are a pain in the ass to work on compaired to the obd1/2 dizzys?

hey guys, i haven't been around for some time; now i find myself in a pickle. last week i lost control of my car on a residential street and pegged a curb, after which the car was immobile. the front left wheel was bent to shit and sitting on an angle. the dealership i took it to told me it would cost about $3,000 to fix (on a big favor even). now although i'm having trouble believing that, as i was only going about 15km/h, i think they may have a better idea than i. it's a '91, i paid $3,700 for it, and the rest of the car is in great shape; only 125,000 kms. i need suggestions here boys, i'm not sure what i should do. as you can imagine, i'm pretty unhappy about all of this. it's my first car, i've had it for only a couple months, i'm still paying for it, and the day before yesterday was my birthday.
any help/input that you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

With the 9004 silverstars I had some pretty crappy lighting too. Try out the 9007 conversion and see how you like it.

good stuff. if you ask your dad to install it for you im sure he can. I have just started this trade and replaced 6 whole front end supension componets. and those parts get them from A1 auto wrecker should be under 500 for used parts. also think aftermarket parts can come into play now

I would have to say that you may have a bad ground in your car. Just replace your ground wires with a new or better one and you should notice a difference overall in your electrical system.

Sorry to hear about your crappy week.
I don't think most of these parts will be that hard to find and replace. I'm thinking that with used parts and DIY will not even come close to $2500 provided that the above parts are all that's needed. Good luck.

thanks for reading so far guys, i do appreciate it. let me know what you think. as far as pictures go, i'm not able to get back to the car at the moment. i've had too much going on lately, and it was my only car. i'm also trying to keep my full time job, but without my wheels it's being difficult. they quoted me $2,500 minimum without the strut. thanks again for the help.

I got all that, i'm in edmonton, but i can ship it to you unless you want to come down, i wish i would of known a week ago as i was down in calgary buying a car. If your still interested let me know as the car has (looks like factory struts) with coil-overs. I want charge you much, i would just like to get rid of it. I'll PM you my #.

I wonder how those 9007 compare to the H4H's that most of us are using. I think I need to re-aim my headlights...they're not so hot.

I thought I'd share a pic I took under my car last week. I guess that manhole that I pegged last winter in Edmonton was a little worse then I remembered it being. :banghead:

Does anyone have a set of stock spings for 91 GS? I am taking out the Eibach's. Also, anyone have a spring compressor?
Need them for this Saturday. Thanks.

Did I tell you I got pulled over about 1.5 weeks ago around my house? Saw the lights, pulled over. Police asked me to step out and tell me to look at my tails. He said they should be Amber instead of white. The bulbs look blue, casing white and it gives out white.

Anyways he said I should change em. I told him since I have been driving Honda/Acuras I have been getting pulled over for nothing. When I had my Nissan, Toyotas I speed and I get a ticket. I joked that it must be an Asian thing and he told me his wife drives a Honda and doesn't get pulled over ;-)

I came across one of these last weekend. Chances are it'll be parked in the garage by next week:

Think I'll get pulled over in this? I am Asian afterall and it is a Honda.
