Sure...If you want them, I'll sell the seats back for what I paid for them. But I still don't have that front bumper take care of yet...so you'll have to wait on that one. Did you still want the back bumper?

Give me call today if you can. I need cash so that I can get my new car started up. :D

I bet it wieghs more than the stock cover, hehe. No to mention that nice glare you'd get off it as soon as the sun catches it. :nut:

I saw CF fenders for an EG a little while ago. It's not like these are heavy parts that you're replacing. Stuff like a trunk lid or hood, or hell, even doors sorta make sense, but they're never going to fit 100% like OEM parts....and you're screwed if they get scratched.

On a side note, I think I have my transmission woes sorted out. I managed to get a hold of they guy that sold me mine for a refund. And I've outsourced LSD tranny in town.. :bigpimp:

12-29-2005, 12:16 AM
Im alright, little choked though, still have stiff as neck and my knee is totaled. Tore my mcl and acl in the crash. Im going to be out for the season which sucks as I work as a ski instructor and now thats done for a year, and i got offered a job to play semi pro rugby in new zealand and now thats done too.

Ill tell the story then,
Driving my sister to go shopping, travelling at the speed limit (thank god) when a car turned across my path at a major intersection and i t-boned her. I was going 80km/hr before the impact, (country hills blvd for the calgary guys) i tried to turn my sis away from the impact and as such when i hit my car spun and i put my head through the drivers side window. Luckily my sister and i are fine, just have whiplash etc and the lady i hit didnt have a passenger.

The police said that it was totally not my fault she ran a red turn light and there was nothing i could have done, 3 witnesses back me up too. This sucks though that car was my girlfriend and now shes gone. Hope the insurance will cover it all but im nervous with my motor swap and motor work what will happen. Roads were dry at the time too and i was covering the brake so that helped me stop a bit better. Guess new car is in the works now. EK with b16b im thinking. shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

Oh anyone who wants parts, ill give you anything you want thats good, but i still have to buy the car back etc so it will be a bit everyone is still in holiday mode.

What are you returning? I bet one of us would be interested in what you have for sale.

cantaffordmytoy: Damn that sucks. I hate hearing stories like that. You weren't doing anythign wrong and all of your hard work it taken away in a second just because some asshole couldn't be botherd check if a light was red. I hope your knee heals well. I know how much that's got to suck.

well my low comp pistons im not doing anything to my engine and i dont need them. And i guess they cant be returned

freakin
12-29-2005, 12:36 PM
Honda-tech is your best bet to get rid of them....but you're going to end up taking a loss on them regardless. Try here, but prepared to be lowballed.

Why the sudden change? I'd just build it if you have them. I'll give you a hand with it.....mind you, I'm sure you have enough help at school. Don't stop now...you were on your way to a tight build.

freakin
12-29-2005, 02:42 PM
Let's build a sick NA motor using OEM parts then. You'll be able to sell those pistons and buy some P30 or PR3 pistons from a dealer and some rings. We make something really fun to drive for not much cash. Do you have a spare motor to build? PM me and we'll figure something out. I'd hate to see you just walk away from a fun idea.

Sorry about the rods. I was out in the garage looking at all of those parts and realized that I could build something sweet out of all that. It's hard to just let go of them, hehe.

Jorge, I ended up getting garage space at my parent's for nice and cheap, so I'm not going to need to look anymore.

Hey Sandino, if you pick those up, I'll buy your OEM rims from you. I'm looking for a set of 15's for my EF.

Does anyone want to come to the auto-x next weekend? I'm just finishing up the Volvo, so it'll be out there. A couple of guys are bringing theirs as well, so it should be interesting.

If you still have your mudflaps and a good set of all-seasons, you guys should bring your tegs out.

So. What's happening tomorrow? Let's shoot for 3:30-4:00pm, cruise around a bit and then go hang out somewhere. For those who are gonna be a bit late, you can get one of our numbers and find out where we're at and join up with us. If you can think of any decent spots for a decent photo shoot post them up too. We can meet up at the usual spot at Chinook, but if any of you have any ideas of somewhere different to meet up let's hear them. To be honest I'm starting to get bored of the usual spot- let's see if we can come up with something original. I was thinking of the old Kramer Mazda lot or something.

Dan, now that the auction has ended, here's what I was going to bid on. I ended up not bidding cause by the time I checked in when I got home, the highest bid was way over what I wanted to pay. Ebay- OEM armrest (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8027016209&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT) . how many of you guys have 16'' rims on your tegs . .. . because i want to get new rims .. i have 17''s right know and was wondering if i should just sell them with the tires and get 16''s. . .or just get new rims. . .i dont feel like spending a lot on wheels . .

what are some of your opinions on the pros and cons for both????:D

frozenrice
01-09-2006, 10:40 PM
I like the looks of 17's, but the ride is a bit rougher because of the tire profile that normally goes with 17's (i.e. 40). I'd imagine with 16s the profile would be a bit taller in the 50 series which might give you a slightly more, softer ride. Mind you the profile is dependant on the tire width that you go with.

freakin
01-09-2006, 10:49 PM
Dan, flat black rules! Did you ever see my suburban? It's soo easy and you can just spray bomb over the dirt.

Rey, 16's or 15's are the way to go. Soo much lighter. I love the look of my 17's, but they're sooo fucking heavy.....and taller. On a 16 you'd likely run a 205/45/16 and a 15 would be a 195/50/15.

rey_mysterio
01-09-2006, 11:00 PM
does this mean if i went from17''s to 16'' that my car would sit a little lower? and would i have to get an alignment?:D

freakin
01-09-2006, 11:07 PM
When I put my 14's on, my car goes down about an inch. I hit my header all of the time and scrape my resonator going in to parking lots. If you used those tire sizes I mentioned above, then they're both the same diameter as stock (or close enough) that you'd see the same effect. Since you're not altering the suspension, your geometry isn't changing....so no allignment necessary.

The difference between 16 and 17 is minimal. Assuming an aspect ratio of 45 on the 16" and 40 on the 17".
The spec diameter on the 16 is 23.26 inches, and 23.46 on the 17.

Your car would sit 1/10" of an inch lower....2.54mm :goflames:

Not necessarily. The numbers that Matt used (eg. 195/50/15) all work together to give you your overall tire diameter.
Here's what I mean.
First number = tire width in millimeters
Second number = tire profile or distance from rim to outer edge of thread (this number is a percentage)
Third number = rim size in inches.
So in the above example the tire is 195mm wide, the profile is 50% of 195mm and the rim size is 15". Do some basic conversions to convert the mm measurements and add to rim
size will give you your overall wheel diameter.
eg
195mm
50% of 195mm = 97.5mm
97.5mm x 2 (to account for opposite side of tire)= 195mm
195mm converted to inches = 7.677"
7.677"+15"= 22.677"
OVERALL WHEEL DIAMETER 22.677"
So to answer your question, it all depends on how you manipulate and combine tire/wheel sizes that determines whether your car will be lower or not. Essentially divide the overall diameter in 1/2 and that will give you the centreline of the wheel to the ground. Rule of thumb anyways is that you shouldn't change the overall wheel diameter +/-3% of stock size otherwise your speedometer will be out. 3% of wheel diameter won't make a huge difference anyways when it comes to ride height.

^^ that's true, and it's why you'll find that most guys with G2's and lots of Civics run:

205/50/15
205/45/16
and 205/40/17,

as they are the closest matches to the stock 195/60/14 diameter.

One thing I noticed when looking for tires when I had 16s on my teg is that tire choices were a bit limited. If you go 15's there is a significant increase in choices. :goflames:
