What's quicker in replacing a alternator

-removing the brake cylinder going up?, or removing the axle and sliding it down? I didnt think it would be so tough..:nut:

frozenrice
06-07-2009, 05:17 PM
I've done it going underneath and removing the axle. Could have done it in less than an hour and a half on a lift, but ran into a couple snags.
I'd be nervous touching the master cylinder.

I did these a few years ago. Drop down is the best way. Removing the axle is pretty easy.

6 years ago I did the brake master cylinder and it was not fun. Brake fluid eats paint and it can get very messy. Plus you have to bleed your braking system.

Who told you to do the brake master cylinder anyways? That is pretty ridiculous.

There was just a thread about it, and it seemed no one really agreed upon the proper way to do it. I didnt think going up seemed like a good idea either. Ill try going down route tonight , thanks.

You can probably get away by getting a new thermostat. One of my DA's had the same problem. Only to find out that the thermostat was on it's way and it was not opening and closing properly causing it to spill some coolant our of the water pump weep hole.

Thanks! I've always loved gen 2 teggys and since the 2 doors are quite common I thought I'd be a little different. All I want now is the 92-93 tails and trunk, and I think it will be a dope little car.

There is only a tiny bit of rust on one of the quarter panels, but since the car has been through 2 front end collisions the rad support isn't exactly straight. That kind of makes it a little tough to justify putting money into it, which sucks because otherwise it would be a really good base to build a project around.

I'm glad there are other 2nd gen 4 door fans on here :D

Haven't really thought about it, although it would be cool. How much do you want for the 92-93 front bumper? oh and I would need the brackets too if I were to buy your bumper because the 90-91 brackets are different than the 92-93.
