So, back to the beers......
Does everyone want to meet on the weekend of April 9th? I could go for either day....just let me know what works for everyone. Also would a south, north or central location work best? I vote south or central .

Raybrigs are $62.99 (US) a pair and the Polargs are $64.99(US) a pair. Plus shipping and all that other customs crap. I'm thinking we should be able to save on shipping at least and I'll ask to see if they'll give a further discount if we buy multiple sets (more sets=bigger discount?)

Here's who's in so far:

I wont be back till April 9th, so the Sunday is a prime time. I vote South or downtown, provided someone can hook me up with a ride. Where are we going to go? Anywhere have good drink specials? or something to do while we are having a few, like playing pool or bowling or something stupid?

Anybody know who owns/drives a white G2 2door with beyond.ca and team integra (DA9B?) stickers on it? Light mods-tinted windows, lowered, 17"(?) rims, exhaust? I saw him this morning at the lights on Heritage and 14th St.

I noticed that there are a few more G2 owners on this site, but they never post here. Too bad, cause the more G2'rs the better.

Any of you guys ever change your own brakes (rotors and pads)? I can't get the damn screws that hold the rotor off. I even went as far as getting an impact screwdriver with the anticipation of the screws being hard to get off and ended up ruining the bit. Now the screws are in the begining stages of being stripped as well. Off to find a garage tommorrow to get them off. :banghead:

Common problem. Soaking down the screws and then going at them with an impact driver tends to work for most people, but not all. Another thing you can do is try hitting the rotor with a hammer to try to break the screws loose, from the back usually works best.

Worst case, you can drill out the screws and take them out. Because they can be so hard to get off, a lot of people don't put them back on once they replace rotors. All they do is make changing pads easier, by holding the rotor on the hub when you take the caliper off.

So, my internet has been disconnected, making it hard to check in here about what we are getting going. What does everyone want to get going?

 I tried all the garages in my area of town today and they were either booked up or didn't have a mechanic working today. So I ended up going and getting a bolt/screw extractor and drilled the shit out of the screw and removed them damn things with a ratchet. This was on top of spraying them down with penetrating lube (not the KY type). Worked like a charm the first time so I ended up doing them all this way without even trying a screwdriver. End rant.....

Here's another idea. How about that video arcade place in Eau Claire market (if it's still there)? I think there's pool tables and it's downtown so it's central to everyone. It's been a while since I've been down there, but there were some cool multi-player driving games. If it's on Sunday afternoon/early evening I can make it out.

Eau Claire sounds good to me. Let's do that. Just watch out with parking.....the meters are all Impark at Eau Claire, expensive and they're not getting any of my money!! Should be free parking on the streets though, so I'll hit that up.

Yeah that's one I took. :) Naturally I'm charging a small fee of a big $5. It's printed on heavyweight matt paper which is perfect for the calender. I can use whatever pic you like so let me know. If there's enough interest I'll print them all off and hand them out on the 10th.

How about a all Calgary G2 Integra calendar? I'd get one for sure. Anyways, I'm glad you guys like the Eau Claire suggestion. I've been carrying these tokens around for a while- now I can use them up. Should we meet there or somewhere else so that can have a mini cruise down there?

Moonracer
03-28-2005, 07:40 PM
I was planning a G2 calender for the end of the year. I'll have to send it away to get it done cause it's just not cost effective for me to do. I'd have to charge like $60 per 12mo. calender.
I could just do up whatever one you want each month starting in april and make your calender one month at a time?

Matt I decided to print one off for the hell of it to see what this format looks like. This one is cool cause the pic is large and takes up most of the page as you can see.

I'd definately be down for some riding. And like I said, I'm right beside Fish Creek, so I could show you guys some really good single track.

The brick is having a bit of an ignition problem. Basically the reason I got it so cheap is starting to pop up. There's something seriously wrong with the ignition, but I think I'll have it licked once I get to pick your part. Basically the tach will drop to zero while I'm driving (motor still spinning, but no power), then the car will slow down. Sometimes it'll come back on with no warning, other times I'll have to pull over and give it a couple minutes. Then it fires back up and drives fine. Lately though, it doesn't want to start back up. I've replaced the ECU and the distributor sensor (the part that sends the tach signal). I'm going to try a relay that feeds the ignition system....after that I'm stumped.

I did get the manual boost controller on it though....and HOLY CRAP!! :burnout:
Now I just need to mount my gauges so I know how much boost I actually introduced, hehe. :nut:

I need to stop playing with this wagon and concentrate on getting my teg back on the road.

you don't need an ashtray man, I prefer just to ride along with a smoke hanging out of my mouth giving a nod to the self righteous eco hippies with "one less car" stickers on their bikes. They can't do anything but shake their head as I roll by  My cigarettes are bad of course, but the 1/2 ounce of dope they smoke a week is ok because, technically, it is a product of nature

yeah I blew off the acura one at the carwash and to replace it with a stock "A" is like $50  no thanks. Besides I think the red H looks better and it goes with my color scheme.

Hey Drew, there's not a whole lot that I can think of at the moment. The only other thing I can think of is 90-91 bumper lenses, but I think you said the ones off the parts car were toast. If you've got them though, I'll take them along with the plugs.

Drew, is our trade still on? I'll bring the lip if you can bring that other stuff.

Is the exhaust new as well? The H and rims are looking pretty damn nice though.....kinda makes me want to ditch my 17's.

Dave, and anyone else interested....I'm going to check out Fish Creek on my mountain bike sometime this week to see how the trails are looking. Anyone intersted in joining me? It likely won't be until 6PM, but with the new day-light savings, that should afford us a couple of hours riding time. Given how early in the season this is, I'm sure that's as long as I'll last.

Any night except tuesday.....The Doctor Who premier is on

Let me know when you guys are free. I'll likely be riding tonight regardless of the response. My hardtail looks so lonely and neglected. I need to take her out and show her that I still care. I'm sure I'll be breaking something, so I'll me tuning her up before I head out. I'm thinking of going around 6-6:30 if you're interested.

Looks like I'm out tonight anyhow....to tired to ride. How does Wednesday or Thursday night sound to you guys?

Ohh, and I'm riding a bastardized little Cannondale F600 hardtail. I was given the frame and I put all the parts I've accumulated on it. Essentially it's a big BMX. :D

frosty, how did it cost you to get that leather seat fixed? I might have found a set but the fronts are pretty chewed up, so I'd like to get an idea of how much it'd be to get them redone.

 Mine is an anorexic museum piece man. If you weigh more than about 150 you can't ride it without risking breaking something :nut:

I hope we can find a time to go. I'll be running around like a chicken with it's head cut off most of the week, but (with the exception of tomorrow) if you set a day I'll try to make it.

It was $175 to replace the side bolster and the two main sections in the ass part of the seat. When they did it, they used a high quality vinyl, not leather...but it matches up pretty well.

The shitty thing is that the whole seat has to come apart to replace the bad sections. The good thing is that once it's all apart it shouldn't be *that* much more to fix a couple more little areas.

If you have nasty cracks in the seats, a few good bouts of leather moisturizer should help things a little. I did that, then touched up the visible cracks with just a touch of Tana black shoe polish. It's amazing how much it can blend the cracks into the seat.

Here's a pic of before and after the touch up...

Hard to say. If it were me, I'd just replace those really nasty parts on the passenger seat, which would probably cost about the same as my seat did.

How supple is the leather? If it hasn't been treated for a long time, the stitching may get destroyed during removal and installation of the cover. If the leather is half way soft and the price on the seats is good though, I say go for it

How much is he asking?
